Thread: Dungeons and Dragons Heroes

  1. Yield Dungeons and Dragons Heroes

Did anyone get this game? I did,and it's great so far. It is exactly the same as Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance except it has 4 player co-op.

  2. I sort-of heard about this in the periphary, and was interested since I love BG: DA. I'll probably get it, but I want to hear some impressions first.

edit: Wow, it got panned at Gamespot: 6.6 They made it sound like everyone should just wait for BG: DA2.

Somehow I just know this is linked to Gamestop being in EA's back pocket.

  4. i'll check it out when it hits $20...along with about 20 other titles that i havn't had time for over the last 6 months.

  5. Gauntlet still gets my playtime, and I barely play Baulder's Gate, although I really want to (2 instead of 4 just makes it less attractive), so I may have to check this out eventually.

    Nice one!

  7. Well, I would have gotten it, if I had money

As for now I will just wait. I always looking forward games done in Diablo/Dark Alliance style, and co-op mode always fun to play.

Me and DJ played this game last year, at Gencon, and it was decent, but had few things and bugs I hope that they fixed in the final release.

  8. I have been playing this the past 3 weekends, and must say that it is amazingly fun when you have 3-4 people playing at the same time. I picked it up on a whim at the KB store closing in November, and just got an xbox a few weeks ago on my birthday so this was my first chance to give some input.

Running around trying to be the first to grab treasure, bartering with each other for the item you need that the other guy cant use, and constantly calling each other names for being fuck-ups are a few of the things that make this a good experience.

Single player is still a good time as well, but multiplayer is where its at. I would definitely recommend this if you have a few friends who can join in.

I havent played a dungeon crawler since the original Diablo, but this game had me looking for more of the same, so I just picked up the 1st Baldurs Gate on Xbox, hopefully it is just as good or better.

  9. I bought this game a few weeks ago and played through the entire thing. Man was it cool. I missed two of the shards, but I'll be going back to pick them up. It's cool how your ancestral weapon gets more and more powerful while changing in appearence.

I, as always, played through as the cleric (dwarf), but on my second run through I'd like to use the halfling rogue. I only with that there was some way to play as the character models used in the opening cinema. Those guys look a lot more badass than their resurected selves.

This game is fantastic, especially if you have a D&D background. For a few weeks straight I wasn't playing anything else. It's a damned good buy at $30, and I would have payed full price for it, no problem.

The only thing I had a problem with was that eventhough the textures for new pieces of armor change, the actual polygons do not. Go ahead, take a look. When you upgrade from leather to splint, and from splint to chain, all of the cloth bits are in the same spot, and all of the shoulder-pads are exactly the same shape, they've just changed texture. Go ahead. Take a look. I know it's a minor gripe, but it irked me. Otherwise, the game is fantastic.

  10. vegg, we have to quit posting in threads like this together. anyhow, got it a few weeks ago with a gift cert from christmass, so far enjoying it greatly, the bosses are bad-ass. I also went through as a dwarf, i liked how sticks to snakes, while limited in use, wrecks most enemies pretty fast once you get it at a decent level, i was out-damaging the elf at times. My only complaints are 2 fold,

    1. the enemy types, while varied, tend to get repetitive, you start against guys who cant block, work your way up to faceing casters, shield guys, and archers and some giant elemental thug/golem guy. It gets to the point of different wallpapers on the same room.

    2. Some lazy design, head down center of map, hit door, head left, hit switch, head right, hit switch, rinse, repeat. the dungeons struck me as more of functional than aesthetic, less beauty and more forcing you to wade through the mobs.

it sounds like i dislike it, not true, i liked the variety of weapons, the artwork for more armors, and the monster designs, particularly the yuan ti, who are very well animated. the multiplayer game is a huge amount of fun, and i like being able to play with 4 guys, that is actually why i got it over baldur's gate 2,and following a dissapointing rent, i feel that my choice was very wise. nearly done with frost the dwarven cleric, and next-up is probably the knight, though the elf is tempting, due to her very cool jump-kick animation on her finisher.
