i never got to enjoy the arcade version(s) back in the day, so when i got the chance to enjoy them on the sat i was very happy, and very satisfied.
i really liked the two D&D games capcom released in the arcades and for the saturn. the first one was pretty fun and the second one seemed like more of the same but with more characters. i loved the thief and mage class characters in the second game. thier designs were extra slick. any other fans of this short series?

I loved playing them in the arcades, especially Shadow Over Mystara. Some day I will get the Saturn compilation.
I wouldn't recommend it unless you're really serious about these games. The collection is overly expensive, and the experience is hurt by very frequent load times. There's also a surprising amount of Japanese to guess through.
I only have it for stupid collecting reasons, and cuz I found it for fairly cheap (65 or something).
Is this the beat'em up where they would say "Welcome to the D&D world!" everytime you fed it a credit?
If so, the one I played was pretty fun. I remember something about branching paths (taking different quests I guess). Good stuff.
Yep yep, I loved that too.Originally Posted by NoFace
They were both great games, up there with Punisher and Guardian Heroes as my favorite beat 'em ups.
I totally loved Shadow over Mystara...so much in fact, I hunted down the arcade board for it. It was pricey, since the US version is pretty hard to find, but I definitely got a lot of mileage out of all the various paths and secrets.
The high level Magician was just nuts. His spells could pretty much wipe out everything on the screen. Too bad getting to him was such a pain in the ass.
I played them only in the arcades and I loved them. I never bothered with the Saturn versions since they were waymore money than I could afford at the time.

sucks!
After what Capcom did with the 4MB cart on Vampire Savior and Marvel SF, there was no excuse for it. A year+ of delays and it stumbles out with horrendous loads and no 4P support at all, even though they still have the 4P-only portals still in the game. Plegh.
I loved how much money selling this game made me.
