Thread: Beta test Steel Battalion: Line of Contact

  1. Beta test Steel Battalion: Line of Contact

    Got this from Voodoo Extreme:

"Capcom USA is seeking 100 Steel Battalion owners to beta test the new online iteration, Line of Contact. People who are able to test should get an email from Capcom, and as you need the specialist hardware, only owners of the original game will be considered.

The focus of this test is to find performance issues prior to the release of the game. Meanwhile, Capcom Japan is looking for 800 testers."

Apparently they are contacting people who sent in their registration card that came with the game.

The game is looking at a March 2003 release. I hope their is an offline mode to compliment what should be a fantastic online mode

    I don't know if I did or not... I don't think so.

I'm gonna check to see if there's any way to get in touch with Capcom about this. I never even thought about being in this. I completely forgot

I recently read something from the developer suggesting that the outcome of online battles affected the overall gameworld (presumably, in a single payer game). Make of that what you will, but it certainly sounds encouraging.

I'd love to play test this, but I imagine I have too many time restrictions. How much time are beta testers expected to devote to a project like this?

5 on 5 online battles, coming March 2004. Can't wait.

Who does that?! Okay, obivously I'm saying that just because I never do. Dammit.

Can we still send them in and get a chance at getting picked?

  6. I must have sent mine out because I can't find it, I usually do send them in if I come across them so hopefully I did

    I sure as hell don't.

edit: and I can't find any sort of registering information on their website. We'll see, I guess. Odds are good, I mean, how many people have this anyway?

  8. check around the MS Xbox website. i know playstationonline.com lets you electronically register all ps1 and ps2 games and accessories from the site. actually you dont put in any info you just click the games on the list and "claim" to own them. still nice tho. not sure if they send the info to the 3rd parties tho.

  9. hmm. Methinks an alternate way to register SB is worth hunting for.

I look forward to teaming up with OR destroying y'all on Live when this comes out.
