Thread: Heat

  1. I agree with you 110% Bio. Those words could have been pretty much written by me. I saw it too back when it came out and enjoyed it and enjoyed it even more on dvd/video. Watch it frequently still. Even got the poster of it on my wall. Love it, love it, love it! A TRUE classic.

Ditto, I had to check my rack just to remind myself I owned this movie.

  3. Heat is good, but I would have liked it more if it were about 45 minutes shorter.

A lot of the backstory could have been trimmed, especially those of DeNiro's crew. I'd leave in Kilmer's backstory, though, 'cause otherwise Ashley Judd wouldn't be in the movie. And I like Ashley Judd. Why?

BECAUSE SHE'S GOT A GREAT ASS!

  4. Damn, I always was sure it was Miami, not LA.

I agree that it would have been a bit better, if they shortened it about 15-20 minutes. There were few subplots that we could have live without, and it would have improved the pace.

Um, Despair, I don't know how you thought the film was set in Miami.....maybe because Michael Mann worked on Miami Vice?

  6. Hmm, I cant really tell you why I thought it was Miami, but I somehow started thinking that after first viewing(at which I wasnt all that impressed by it, but followup views changed my opionion for the better)
