Thread: Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes

  1. I dont mind the cutscenes and the new ones seem to add some more drama and action to the game, so for me it makes it kind of hard to complain and even harder to wait until I can get my hands on this game.

I think I've commented on the whole Snake backflipping thing before, I'm hoping that its incorporated into the gameplay somehow - if we can see it in a cutscene hopefully we should be able to play it. And I hope Snakes hand-to-hand fighting is a little more complex than punch, punch, kick.More like punch, low sweep kick, Rising Dragon Fist,Shotokan stretch kick, three stooges eye-poke, <crosses fingers>.

  2. Agreed. Watching him fight Fox in that trailer, and the cool hand-to-hand moves he uses on the Genome Soldiers, I would hope we're privy to some cooler moves. I'm not counting on it though (that comes in MGS3).

On the count of it being more dramatic, I also agree. Scenes like uhh, "Meryl vs. Sniper Wolf", where Snake bangs his head against the wall to show frustration... lots of little touches like that that really enhance the storytelling.

  3. Pictures of Metal Gear Solid TTS & impressions of final version!

Check it out... A poster named Normalmode at the GameFAQs MGS:TT board has blown the lid off the game's details.

I haven't taken the time to read through the postings or seen the 27 minute video, but I can tell you that review copies of the game HAVE been sent out to the major media outlets already. How do I know this? I've just finished MGS: Twin Snakes with the Meryl ending. Provided that information is still scarce, I'd be happy to answer any questions to the best of my abilities. Just to convince you that I've played it, here's a few examples of things new to this version of MGS1 that you WILL experience when it comes out...

Here are his pictures of the game's packaging (review beta copy):

  4. Dude, I want all of that. The stickers, the foldout, the CD, everything.

Who do I have to fuck to get it?
    Time for a change

  5. That's badass. Good to know it'll be shipping March then.

  6. Just saw the vid, and ugh, everyone is right, WAY too much acrobatics for a MGS game. Why can't snake be badass and not superhuman? That being said, i don't think they "ruined" the game, and i will buy this day one for sure.

That and i treasure metal gear solid 2 amonst the best games ever created. Screw you haters.

  7. MGS2 is a great game... when you're playing it and not watching it's ridiculous plot unfold.

    MGS1 is greater.

  9. It's definitely got it's moments, and I by no means dislike the game... but towards the end, it was like is going on here. I hope Snake Eater tries to make some sense of all the Patriot mumbo jumbo they threw at you, but I'm not holding my breath.

  10. Well, heres my take. MGS1 had infinitely superior characters and character interactions. But it was just a classic save the world story, granted ,the characters motives made that interesting, but the reason you were there to begin with was iffy at best. MGS2 had mostly shitty chars (with the exception of raiden/solidus), but i thought that the overall story and the context that it put your actions in were a bit more entertaining. Its all really opinion, if you multiply character x plot to get an overall, mgs1 still wins.

Edit: To make it more readable, for the context of a game, MGS1 wins, but for the context of simply a story, mgs2 wins. I love both games. (I only own MGS2 though)
