Cap, you're partially correct. Truly, only the Catholic and Orthodox faith actually refer to their clergy as priests, but, when talking about Christianity in general, they are commonly referred to as "Christian Priests".

Catholics are Christians, indeed. However, whenever someone says "priest," they are speaking exclusively. "Christians" can be Catholic, Orthodox, Methodist, Presbiterian, Non-Denominational, etc. Priests are not members of every Christian sect. Thus, the term "Christian Priest" is misapplied. Reverand would have been a better term.

I was getting a kick out of the symantics. I wasn't being picky, and I wasn't saying they should have used a different word. I know what they meant, and their meaning wasn't hindered due to word usage. I was being a smart ass.

I just don't like it when people put those who "work" for god above others, as if they are somehow better. Its pretty obvious to me that they aren't.

I'm glad Nintendo had the balls to tell Capcom to do whatever they wanted, because you can tell this is the type of game that the creators are passionate about making, and censoring it would definitely fuck up their vison of what the game should be.

Understood, but it is because they are Christians, and they are also priests. They are priests that are Christian, but not "Christian priests." They are not "priests of the Christian faith," as they are only found in two such denominations.

But I digress. The funny I made had to do with my own perception and interpretation of the symantics. I thought it was funny. That's all. No need to get all technical.

To be honest, I don't give a crap one way or the other. If it's part of the story, fine. People get shot all the time, man. What's the difference if it's a priest or a plumber? Not to mention the fact that since it is a priest, there will be much more impact concerning the issue. A killer who kills a plumber is just a killer, but boy-O-boy! A killer who is depraved enough to kill a priest? You see what I mean? Much more emotional impact. More emotional impact = good.

Besides, it's not like they shot a real, honest to goodness priest. It's a freaking game.

I didn't say there was a difference between a plumber and a priest. to me, there isn't. I was just talking about how it pisses me off when someone like the person they mentioned told them they shouldn't kill a priest in the game, even though i'm sure a bunch of "regular" people can be killed in the game.
