Thread: Pac-Man VS

  1. Well, I'm looking forward to Pac-Man VS, can't beat free, or essentially, however you look at it. I, for one, am more than happy with my purchase of a GBA over two years ago, and look forward to buying an SP so I can make the most of my GBA game library. Quite a few GBA games have helped show what portable games can be. Look at Tactics Ogre: the Knight of the Lodis, there's a deep, rich, beautiful game with great music that no one would have thought possible on a portable before the GBA came out. It showed that strategy RPGs could be done well on a portable system. Doom on the GBA also showed that FPSes could be done well for a portable, not counting Zero Tolerance on the Genesis, which can be turned into a portable game via the Nomad, as GBA Doom was made with portable gameplay in mind.

How do you know its shitty? sounds like you haven't even played it. Unless, of course, all portable games are shitty by default. If thats the case then i am clearly wasting my time.

No, the GBA is a piece of shit. The screen sucks, and it hurts my hands because it was designed for 8 year olds. SO what are you telling me to do now... "oh buy a SP". Fuck that. Im not giving Nintendo another $100 to buy the same system all over again.

I mean, Lucas and whomever else, you do realize that if you bought the GBA, the GBASP, and the Game Boy Player, you basically gave Nintendo money for the same product three times over, right? And people wonder why Nintendo is still making money.. because even with shit products they can convince people to spend tons of cash on them over and over again.

Fuck the GBA, fuck Nintendo, fuck connectivity, and fuck Pac-Man VS.

  6. Yeah, I'm sure folks realized that they were essentially buying the same hardware again, if they didn't, I doubt they'd give them their money. I bought the GBA at launch and don't regret it, I bought the GBP at launch, and I am elated with my purchase of that. I look forward to buying the SP when the price reaches a level I'm comfortable with.

it's not like they had half of EAD working on this. this is nothing more than some random project that turned out really good.
I think this Pac-Man Vs. game is an excellent application of the GBA/GC connectivity. I think most of the other GBA/GC linkup games are kind of gimmicky, or don't offer enough reward to make it worthwhile...but this really sounds like some solid multiplayer fun.

When you think about it, the decision to give Pac-Man Vs. away with the purchase (or preorder) of certain games was a good idea. Since the game is multiplayer only and requires both a GameCube and Game Boy Advance, the market for it might be somewhat limited. This enables them to get the game out there, and possibly use it as a tool to sell GBA systems to GC owners who don't yet have a GBA.

I'm still considering getting a GameCube real soon now (yes, I know I've been saying that for months), and if I do get one, then I'd be inclined to get this. I had contemplated getting Pac-Man World 2 for the PS2 for a while; I'd rather wait and get the GameCube version instead once they start including Pac-Man Vs. with it.

  9. It's not like nintendo is forcing you to update, like most games are unplayable without a set of fucking GBAs in all its hardware iterations. quit your meaningless fucking bitching.

And ya know what? nintendo saw the huge interest in the afterburner and decided to *gasp* release a new version of the console to meet the demands of the consumer. And I'll bet you people didn't get all pissy over the Super Gameboy on the SNES did you?

  10. does anybody have shots of the cube screens?

    *edit* never mind. found some.
