Since I can't stand trying to use the keyboard with the retarded placement of the d-pad on the Driod I just pre-ordered one of these:

There seems to be an ever growing Droid/Android base here on TNL. Maybe it is time for an Android thread about games and apps?

nokia 6300
Palm bought by HP today. WebOS gets even more awesome in 3...2...1...
After all the fronting about the Incredible, I was in the store today and just couldn't justify spending $200 on the phone. I just don't need all that extra. So I ended up spending $30 on a Palm Pre Plus. It can't be any worse than any other phone I've had and hey... thirty dollars. Who cares.
I could never hang with that tiny keyboard on the Pre.

Diff, if you're feeling adventurous look into installing Preware on the phone. You can use it to install all sorts of homebrew pretty painlessly (the installation of Preware is the only thing that feels hacky). There's even an install for a patch that lets you bump the processor from 500Mhz to 800, haven't had or heard of any overheating problems.
the pre is hard to pass up with the free wifi hotspot promo verizon is doing right now.
Quality control on them though.....ugh.
A lot of defective ones for various stupid reasons.

Well so far a day in or so I like it. But then again we are comparing it to the worst phone ever (enV2), so I'm not really an informed consumer here.
Just make sure all the keys work ok, the GPS works, and the screen doesnt have a dark spot the lower part of the screen.

Is the enV2 a bad phone? I had the first enV and thought it was pretty solid for a featurephone of the time. Just ugly.
