Thread: What Cell Phone Do You Carry?

  1. Yeah, I heard the battery life on the Thunderbolt was total shit. How long does it last with the extended battery, and how much extra bulk does it add? I have the HTC Droid Incredible 2 and was wondering if the extended battery was worth it.

I agree! It looks like a brick with the extended. I can knock a b*tch out with it.

The extra bulk isnt much. About 1/4" thicker?

    Comparison pics

Without the extended and my Thunderbolt running on 4G, I would unplug it at 8am, it would last me till 1pm and thats with sending a couple of IMs, checking mail and thats it. With the extended, I would unplug it at 8am and as of 10pm, I'm at 35% with moderate use with internet, IMs, replying and checking emails.

Also, I'm in NYC and go underground on my way to work. Usually I go from 98% down to 88% in a matter of 20 mins all due to stupid network searching. But I still last a whole day with it.

  3. Thx for the pics.

Personally, I seem to get the same battery life with the stock DI2 battery as you do with the Thunderbolt extended one. Who says 3G-only is a bad thing?

Do you live in an Android state or an iPhone state?

I hate to say it, but every iPhone state can blow me except for maybe LA.

edit: I mean... TX and CA agree on something.

  5. I got an EVO 3D. It's pretty sweet to be honest.

  6. Looks sweet. How's the battery life on that fucker?

Funny thing is that if I put the Thunderbolt on 3G, I can last 2-3 days on it. My wife opted not to get the Thunderbolt as she wont be using the 4G as much as I would nor have a need for it so she got the Droid X2. Hers is 3G also and lasts just as long if not a little longer.

WTF, is this typical of Android phones or unique to Thunderbolt? I'd heard the Thunderbolt had poor battery life, but with your described usage my phone would be 70-80% at the end of the day. It takes me serious mobile usage to get it anywhere near 0% in a single day. Dipping below 50% in a day is a rarity.

To wit: I unplugged my phone this morning, about seven hours ago, took a handful of pictures including a panorama, uploaded said pictures to Twitter and Instagram, tweeted, checked and responded to e-mail and did some light Facebook and web browsing while new tires were put on my bike. I'm at 89% battery life right now.

  10. All the 4G phones drink down batteries, but you can leave the 4G off and it will be much better. Turn on 4G only when needed.
