What Cell Phone Do You Carry?

Alright, my Blackberry Pearl is a big piece of crap. It constantly buzzes twice and then has the flashing red alert light as though I have a new message. There are no new messages (and I have no hidden applications or anything like that). I've pulled the battery as described on help forums and nothing helps. Short of leaving the phone off, it will not stop doing this crap. It's happened before and will go away on its own sometimes, and then just come back.

Ideas?

Do you have apps that notifies your of messages? It buzz's and blinks red when like you said, you get a voicemail or text message. Do you have apps like gmail installed? I get buzz and red light when I get a new email. What about weatherbug? I get both when there is a weather advisory.

I've installed only two applications and neither has messages. I even do "show all" in case it was a hidden application doing something. It's just an error that I don't know how to stop.

I'm getting kind of tired of my iPhone and if the next revision is as minor as its looking to be, I think I'm going to switch to the HTC Touch Pro2.

I've got a couple of questions for anyone out there who might have the Touch Pro:

1.) I hate having a carrier branded OS (especially with this dumb shit they have that tries to get you to pay for music, ringtones, etc.). I know its WinMo either way but I want all that MEdia Mall crap off of there. Can I easily download and flash the manufacturer's OS to an AT&T-branded Touch Pro2, assuming it would work the same way as the current model? I'll buy an unlocked one if I have to but I'd rather not spend $800.

2.) Is the GPS any good? Will it even work without the AT&T OS?



In an unrelated note, I got a chance to play with a Palm Pre and while it is sexy, the keyboard is as terribly small as it seemed and this is about the worst way to have QWERTY typing. Virtual keyboards are better than this. If you're planning on getting one, make sure not to trim your fingernails too short.

Just try their demo unit first. The Best Buy phone department should have one if you ask.

I'm about a week away from my reup and the curve is still leading my list for phones. After messing with a storm for awhile this weekend I definitely was warming up to it but still not sure about having to only deal with a touch screen. Any word on the Niagara release date?
