Guys, Where did you see the video?
I agree, after seeing it from a high quality video it really does look amazing when you see the game's animation and cel shaded style. I'm just hoping it turns out to be a good game.Originally Posted by Captain Vegetable
The game just isn't that good. It was hyped alot and once you play it you feel ripped off if you purchased it at full price. You see a cut scene, fight like 10 bad guys then another cut scene, 5 more lackeys, cut scene, 3-4 more cronies....its like that the whole way through. The only thing which saves the gameplay a bit is getting all the moves and leveling up your characters in the high difficulties.Originally Posted by bloodyarts
Its a average/below average game with amazing graphics, voicework and style. I bought the game for like 20 bucks which still feels steep when going by gameplay standards but I just love all the aesthetics of it so I kept it. The developers just really dropped the ball on this one and could have had one of the best beat-em ups ever by have two players less cut scenes and alot more gameplay as well as interactive environments and the whole nine yards.
I doubt they'll ever do a sequel to improve the mechanics either since it was a big flop after people played it(many returns I hear) and saw that it didn't live up to any of its expectations.

I saw it on a tape at Gamestop where they usually show gameplay footage of upcoming games.
Hmm, I think I saw it on that DVD as well.

I was excited for this game last year. Thought about even buying a PS2 to play it. But unfortunately Ninja Gaiden has ruined me. After seeing gameplay footage, I can tell that the AI is the standard stand-there-like-brick-and-wait-my-turn variety common to most beat-em-ups. After making the AI in Ninja Gaiden my bitch I don't I can go back to dealing with such simple-minded gameplay.
Hrmm...actually, now that you mention it, the enemies DO just look like they stand there and take whatever punishment you give them. I think I saw one of the robot soldier things throw a punch and land a leg sweep, but that's about it.
Going from Ninja Gaiden to this will take some adjusting...
You know, I always fear when I see so much fanservice put on top of games like this.
They're presenting the secrets before they really let you know about the game, in order to use them as selling points. It discourages me, because they know that using Ryu outfits, Chun, Morrigan, etc. will be a draw for people who would otherwise pass on a mediocre title. People such as myself
Please, PLEASE let this game be fun and have depth. The gameplay I'm seeing right now looks like the same old dream-factory system, a system which needs to be abandoned. It's stagnant now.
Here's hoping for a new element that brings this game above mediocre.
