Actually, the exchange rate is far more favourable to Canadians right now. The Canadian dollar is soaring (and the economy is doing well, especially in MTL) and thus things are more expensive here than in the US. For the first time in a long time it's actually advantageous to import from the US rather than buy local goods.

On the other hand, Montréal itself has the cheapest cost of living of any major city in North America... so it's still good... and the girls speak for themselves. Just ask Brisco.
