Thread: AMD/nvidia conflict

  1. AMD/nvidia conflict

Alright. A friend of mine gathered all the components, and we started to build.

Everything is in, but no matter what, Windows XP's installation will either lock up or give a "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" BSOD.

Tried unplugging all other devices, still happens.

The only card in there is the GeForce 4 AGP, everything else is on-board. The drives seem fine; HD as master on primary IDE, and I've removed the CD-Rom drives.

    =/

  2. Is it an 'older' AMD chip/chipset? There's a magical little BSOD that happens because of a paging conflict with AMD and nVidia. I can't play UT2K3 on my sisters machine because of it.

  3. Update the bios on the computer..

Try a different video card and ram..

  4. Thanks for the replies.

He's got an Athlon XP 2600 and an Asus A7N8X, with the nForce chipset or whatnot.

We'll look into updating the bios.
