Thread: Rush Limbaugh -- racist comment?

  1. See all this controversy football creates? And then people wonder why I don't watch it.

    2. Steve McNair
    3. Daunte Culpepper
    4. Donovan McNabb
    5. Michael Vick

Obviously, Moon is no longer active, so that makes McNabb 3rd out of the black QBs. Now, let's list the white ones who are clearly better than him (in no order):

    Brett Favre
    Drew Bledsoe
    Rich Gannon
    Kerry Collins

That makes him the 7th best, and there are several other white QBs that you could make a case for. Being the 7th best starter out of 32 at any given time means you are not great. In fact, if McNabb weren't black, he never would have seen a Pro Bowl or a Chunky Soup commercial.

You dumbasses that are hung up on the Jay Fiedler comparison don't get it. Fiedler is clearly in the bottom half of the league's QBs, yet his numbers don't just get killed by the "great" McNabb's, especially since we are talking about an uneven amount of games played. No one is saying that Fiedler is better than McNabb. I am saying that if the media wants to raise someone to a level they have not earned on the field, he would be a better choice, if he weren't a white devil of course.

    How about some real comparisons?

    Garcia

McNair is obviously the better quarterback as well as Garcia, but they are'nt talked about as often, because of the talent levels of their current teams.

The main reason McNabb is in the spotlight, is because he has a Super Bowl caliber team surrounding him and shows he can get the job done, but has'nt made it to the big dance yet. Something that McNair has done.

After looking at it in this manner, I must say that Rush might have been wrong in his judgement of the situation. Tampa Bay got there with an average quarterback backed by a decent running game, of coarse he had a great defense to back him, as well as the Eagles do.

Ace of fucking Base was mentioned.

This whole board has sunk to a new low. Thank you, ShineAqua.

  4. Rachels a fan, sorry.

  5. Yoshi, I think the media does give Fiedler an amount of attention not equivalent to his real value - because he's Jewish. I know I pay more attention to how the Dolphins are doing specifically because of Fiedler's religion, and I'm sure a lot of other Jewish guys, Jewish reporters do. The same issue probably crops up with a guy like McNabb.

Someone in the studio should've brought up a guy like Kordell Stewart when Rush made the comment - Rush was being stupid, insensitive, but racist, no.

The real issue is the way that Rush is pussyfooting his way around the drug issue - you, he, can't have spent 8 years (justly) criticizing the Clintons, and then equivocate and obfuscate when he fucks up. He's a symbol of anything even remotely right (as much as I dislike saying that), and this sort of boldfaced hypocrisy drags down everything it touches. I'd say this was much more significant than the Bill Bennett thing.

Kerry Collins sucks. I'm a Giants fan, and by god, Kerry Collins sucks. No way he's in the top 6 of the league. No chance in hell. You can't throw 30 interceptions and year and be good.

  7. It wasn't a racist comment at all. The defense that "carries the team" is black.

And frankly, while I think McNabb is a great QB, I do think he is overrated and yes, without the defense, they wouldn't have done a thing. Without him, they still could have. He was hurt and they continued to play well. He has more talent around him (like some black offensive players) than most people seem to think.

    Good one.

Also, Rich Gannon is the most overrated QB in the league by far. Give me two future Hall of fame WRs, one of whom is the best to ever play the game, Jerry Porter as #3, Garner (probably the most underrated RB in the game) as my back and that O-Line, and I'll put up decent numbers.

Duce is constantly injured and not that good to begin with. Thrash is pretty good but nothing special. The rest of their WRs are a joke.

Did he ever deny the allegations? Or is he still promising full cooperation and whatnot?

  10. I will say that McNair is leauges better than McNabb but McNabb is still a good player. For what it's worth, I think the whole thing is one big over-reaction. The things that I can certianly agree with Yoshi are Warren Moon being a badass and McNair being great too as well as the fact that the reason McNair doesn't get any press is because he plays for what may well be the least glamorous team in the NFL rested in the goddamned Cumberland Gap... I'm still puzzled why they left Houston.
