It has to do with an ego-maniac ("Talent on loan from god"?) that passes his opinion off as fact, without ever presenting the other side of the story.

I think his comments were misplaced. If he had said something like this on his radio show, nobody here would be talking about it, because it's just standard Rush fare. It was a political statement (not a racist once) about the media, that really didn't have anything to do with football.

It was also a stupid statement. If you're going to call a high profile player like McNabb overrated, provide something other than your say-so that he is. Put up some numbers, some comparisons to somebody who's not considered to be as good to back it up.

I've never liked Rush, and I certainly disagree with what he said. That said, I don't think he needed to resign over his comments. It didn't feel racist to me at all.

I *am* kind of surprised there wasn't more of a counter point from the other people on Countdown, but whatever.

First of all, stuff like his "Talent on loan from God" thing only exists to get your goat. And it works obviously. Rational people know he's being facetious.

Second of all, he's not a journalist, he doesn't refer to himself as a journalist, he doesn't pass off anything he does as journalism: he's an editorialist and entertainer. He knows it and he says it.

Third of all, he doesn't dodge anyone. He confronts them all. And he always spells out his case.

Fourth of all, he's not fat anymore. He lost all that weight.

You'd know some of this if you bothered to check it out yourself instead of depending on second hand information from your shepard.

Yeah, I heard about Rush's alleged drug addiction on Howard Stern this morning. I believe it came from the National Enquirer. That's all I really have to say about that. Not that it couldn't be true, but I find it hard to entertain as plausible given the source, and that's no one's fault but their own.
