Best tip I give is to use your ears rather than your eyes when he starts spinning.

    Very true.

Also, stay by the gap. You'll be able to dodge the rocks a bit more easily. (except for when his life meter is red).

  2. Cpt Veg- "Joe is told that "He's no Mega Man;""

In the JP version, he's called Rock Man (GASP!). I wonder if that's the only thing changed from the JP version. Reading the thread made me want to play it again, and I'm having a blast. Fire Leo beat me into quiting (on kids), but taking a look at a guide recently I saw that the most important thing to get (VX super charger) was the only thing I lacked, so I started the game over again.

  3. Speaking of Mega Man, VJ kind of has a Mega Man feel to it. It's weird. I've tried to classify it as kind of a mix between Mega Man and (Place name of favorite 2D Beat-Um-Up here).

The weird thing about it is is that there's absolutly no shooting. Joe doesn't have a single projectile attack. Mario had one, Mega Man had one, just about every side-scrolling platformer has one, except Joe. It's cool, and I like it.

P.S. The Life is Viewtiful song sucks nuts. The video's cool and all, but Limp Bizkit was never my kind of thing.

  4. All I can think of while playing this masterpiece is why couldn't Castlevania be done this way.

Don't forget about the V. Boomerang and Six Machine.

As for the Life is Viewtiful song, I'll have to agree. It wasn't that great, but hell, I sat through the whole thing since I unlocked it.

  6. VJ, too me, is sorta like the closest thing yet to a Gunstar sequal. The ultra-cool anime/manga inspired graphics, manic action and smooth 2D gameplay is the best example I can think of that carries on in the Gunstar spirit.

  7. I just beat the "You're no Mega Man" boss last night, I've got a loooong ways to go, haven't I? I started right in at Adults difficulty and I'm beginning to think that just maybe, for the first time ever in a game, they weren't kidding about recommending an easier difficulty level for the first play-through. I think I fought that guy 12 times before getting past him, and though I learned his patterns and how to counter them pretty quickly, putting it all together took a while. Plus he didn't seem to take damage very quickly.

Odd thing is, as many times as I took him on I didn't get annoyed about it. It's a rare game that has that quality.

  8. I started the game over on Kids and I'm enjoying it even more. Highest combo so far was a bit over 1,000.
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.

  10. Dj and I been playing Joe since Friday. We started it on Adult mode, and right now on Level 6. Awesome game, and whats great is that the challege Capcom put into it. The Boss fights are awesome, since you have to think on how beat them, instead simple I punch you till you die route many cames often choose.
