In Adults mode mach punch teh rocks to become firey--now all Leo's fireballs willl pass through you. You have to get close enough to hit leo (I use red hot kick which is the best way) -- that will extinguish his fire. He'll come after you with his shield in hand. Dodge his swipes and destroy his shield (slow red hot one hundred punches would do it) and also you can hit him exactly two more times before he starts spinning like a madman. The trick here now is to dodge his high/low ttacks and after a while he'll get dizzy. Now red hot one hundred him and it usually takes away a bar of life. Then he'll jump into the lava and start the whole process over again. It took me a while to get used to this pattern. One more thing--after Leo has a bar and a 1/2 of life left he'll start attacking at a faster rate but when you extinguish his fire again it will be the same pattern...good luck.
I just beat teh game on adullts last night and started playing the game again. Won't spoil any details but it's so worth it to play the game over again...

You DO want to get firey to keep from getting burned. Then you get in close and hit him until his shield breaks. Once you do that, he'll start spinning. Once he misses five times, he'll be dizzy. That's when you go to work on 'im!
Once his life bar goes red, he gets fiesty. You might want to let him run around twice before you go in to attack. Use your VFX sparingly to see his attacks and he shouldn't be too hard.
Keep this in mind, (the later part, anyway) since you'll fight robot ("Terminator") versions of Leo later on.

You've got the right idea.
When you get firey, head towards Leo. If you think you're running out of fire-ness, slam on the last rock before Leo to refill. Otherwise, slow-hit him to extinguish the Leo. He'll attmept to walk up to you and smitch-back you for revenge. Dodge him, then slow-zoom and hit him two or three times (you'll know when to stop when he tries to hit you again). Dodge once more, and slow-zoom and hit him until the shield breaks. He'll try to hit you a couple more times, but dodge him until he starts spinning. Next, dodge his spinning attackness. If he hits you or if you go out of range, he'll move in closer and start spinning again, but only twice more before he gives up and jumps off and starts the cycle anew.
The real trick is not to let him near the gaps when you've de-flamed him. He'll jump straight back in. I found myself using the Red-Hot-Kick to get the de-fire hits in.

Confirmed. When I finished Adult, I was able to start a new game on V-Rated with all my powers I collected during the first game. When I had finished Kids, I was only able to use my powers in Kids mode again.
When fighting Fire Leo, I found myself getting one rock in front of him and nailing him in the mouth with a V-Boomerang. It stops the fireballs and lets me stay far enough away to dodge all the other fireballs before going in to destroy Leo's sheild. Usually my red glow from Mach punch always wore off before the fireballs dissipated, so that was the easiest way around it.

Is it just me, or does Zoom-Slow Punching (Uppercuts and the Red Hot Hundred) kill the challenge here? I just got a 6880 Viewtiful combo in V-Rated thanks to it...

i think it's a bit too overpowered, myself. why bother using the other moves when that one is all quad damage?
