SSX 3 vs 1080 Avalanche vs Amped 2

You gotta give it a break, Slope Sliders from like 1995. Looks better in motion anyway.

As for snowboarding games this generation, SSX3 owns. I played the PS2 version a lot over the holidays and it deserves all the praise. One of the games where the Dual Shock controls really well, and the trick system and racing action are right on the money as always.

One of the things I love is how well-integrated the shortcuts have always been in the SSX courses, it's perhaps one of the hardest things to nail right in a racing game.

SSX rules. If you pick 1080 over it, youre kbuchanan. If you pick Amped 2 over it, youre Red Cloak. Take your pick.

1080 simply for realism and I simply hate trick based games.

As for reviews, let me point out that these are the same people who give critical acclaim to Zelda 64 and Zelda WW.

Because the games were boring period. They are far from great too, though I must say that some of the cutscenes in WW it are very nice.
