what the hell is it with all these abandoned mental hospitals just strewn about all over the place?
Checked out YAWAs site thingie ...
Tucson - Tucson High Magnet School - One of the many classrooms in the vocational building has been condemned because of rumors of a student killing himself there. The student now haunts the room. Students and teachers have reported hearing loud taps on the door, cold spots, and eerie footsteps when no one is around.
I went to tucson high. The Vocational buliding (aka. the V. building) is very very freaky. Its really old and run down. I think I've been in the class room that no one is allowed to use. We were filming something for our media class and used it for an errie scene. Lemme tell you , it was scary. the patches of cold spots are so real. It freaked all three of the people that were with me out.
yum yum yum ... Delicioso

A result of some rather extreme changes in the way we view both mental health and treatment, I'd imagine. Not really the sort of places you can turn into a cozy bed and breakfast, either.
I live in GA, I plan on checking out them bridges Sunday.
The other spots in my local area sounded dumb on that site. I think my other best bet is to find that hospital where ever that thing is.
Now that I think about it, one of my best friends. His family has had problems with ghosts a loooong time ago. I got him to talk about it a little bit, but the stuff scared him so bad, he's about blocked most of it out his mind. I was at his house once trying to provoke stuff to happen, he was like begging me to stop. His mom heard and she got kinda mad too, asked me to leave so I'm guessing it was a REALLY bad experience what happened to em.
When I was about 5, I was at school and my mom and aunt were at home with my younger sister, who was about 3. Suddenly, she came into the kitchen where they were and said "Mommy, who is that man in the black robe in Derek's bed?" Yep, just out of nowhere. I thought that was kind of creepy.

Scary shit, guys. If I lived alone, I wouldn't be sleeping tonight...
My contribution involves the house I lived in until I was 6. It was a fairly new house in a residential neighborhood, built in 1979 I think, but there was a small gravesite up on the hill directly adjacent to it. I remember going up there a few times when I was little and seeing a headstone. The last time I went up there, the headstone was broken - smashed into a bunch of pieces. I told my mom and dad about it and they said to never go up there again.
Apparently, that's when my parents started experiencing some really freaky shit at home. My mom said she was in the kitchen while my sister was at school and I was taking a nap. She swears, to this day, that she heard someone come down the stairs. She thought it was me after waking up from my nap, but she said she checked on me and I was sound asleep in my bed.
My dad has only mentioned this once, probably because it freaked him the fuck out, but he said he saw a black-robed figure standing in the front yard right before sunset.
There have also been reports of strange green lights in the corners of my parent's bedroom.
Any relatives visitng us stayed in the 3rd bedroom downstairs. All of them have testified that they've felt "someone or something touching their faces" at night as they tried to sleep. That could be blamed on a dog or cat, but we didn't have any pets then. If that happened to me, I'd run away screaming, seriously.
I also remember having what's referred to as "night terrors" when I was little, and while living in that house, one of them involved these hideous spinning demon faces. Coincedence? Likely, considering night terrors are basically just nightmares when you're semi-conscious. But it's hard to overlook something like that when those other weird things happened.
My friend who lives in VA tells me his office building is haunted. He's on the IT staff and has to work overnight occasionally, alone most of the time. He hears whispering voices and footsteps that get closer and closer to his office, but there's no one there. His screwdriver was missing after he came back from the restroom, and he found it behind a locked door that only he could get into (that's seriously fucked up, and I have a hard time believing it, but I honestly don't think he'd make it up).
He also has problems turning off the lights when he's ready to leave - sometimes they just won't turn off when he hits the switches... on all four circuit breaker boxes that control the lights. Here's an exerpt from the AIM convo we had:
JsnThms: oh and the lights
JsnThms: ok
JsnThms: check this
JsnThms: this FREAKED me out
JsnThms: the last one here is supposed to turn off the lights
JsnThms: and you have to go across the sales floor to the other side of the building and cut the lights out
JsnThms: and then come back
JsnThms: and get the lights on the other side
JsnThms: and go out either door
JsnThms: so i headed up front
JsnThms: and cut out the lights in the lobby
JsnThms: and in the stairwell
JsnThms: and break room and bathroom
JsnThms: so i walked thru the TS floor
JsnThms: leavign the lights on
JsnThms: there are four switches to turn off the TS floor lights
JsnThms: all of them control the same lights
JsnThms: so you can cut the lights on teh TS floor from each of the four corners
JsnThms: so
JsnThms: i alwsys just wait til im ready to go
JsnThms: and kill the lights on the switch near my exit
JsnThms: so i did it
JsnThms: and the lights stayed on
JsnThms: didnt even blink
OmegaFlareX: Woa
JsnThms: i flipped the switch 5 more times
JsnThms: stayed on
JsnThms: i wasnt freaking out yet
OmegaFlareX: Maybe that particular fuse box is dead or something
JsnThms: yeah
JsnThms: thats what i thought
JsnThms: so i went to corner #2
JsnThms: same thing
JsnThms: #3
OmegaFlareX: Hahah, fuck
JsnThms: same thing
JsnThms: #4
JsnThms: same
JsnThms: so i was like, fuck it
JsnThms: but
JsnThms: when i turned from corner #4
JsnThms: i looked up front
JsnThms: and all the lights i had just turned off
JsnThms: lobby
JsnThms: bathroom
JsnThms: breakroom
JsnThms: stairway
JsnThms: all back ON
JsnThms: i ran out of here
OmegaFlareX: Hahahah
JsnThms: like
JsnThms: a kid
JsnThms: sprinting
OmegaFlareX: I probably would've shit my pants
JsnThms: and the weird thing
JsnThms: the next AM
JsnThms: all the lights were out
He was at work at about 2:30am while telling me this story, and shortly after that, he went home because the footsteps and other noises were freaking him out again.
JsnThms: another step
JsnThms: closer to my office
JsnThms: chills
OmegaFlareX: AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!@@@@@@@
JsnThms: yeah
JsnThms: god it scares the shit out of me
OmegaFlareX: Get the fuck out of there, man. Don't torture yourself like that
JsnThms: you know the noise it would make
JsnThms: if you were in the same room as someone
JsnThms: and the exhaled
JsnThms: and then licked their lips
JsnThms: and then swallowed
JsnThms: i hear siht liek that
OmegaFlareX: Yeah, I guess so
JsnThms: right outside my door
OmegaFlareX: 0_o
