Thread: Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

  1. I think that anything that isn't made by an internal Japan based Nintendo studio ends up sounding great, ie Metroid Prime and Eternal Darkness. I'm sure that MGSTTS will have great music as well.

To go back several pages... it seems that only the games coming out of their second party developers have good "production" values. I guess voice acting, solid music, and replay extras are "Americanized" gameplay ideas that the fine folks at EAD haven't yet grasped.

  2. I just played DD for a few hours, seems totally awesome, and easily the best MK game since the original.

I'm sure I do because it was the language I acquired while growing up. I had the models (parents and those around me) providing me with sufficent exposure to the language to develop my lexicon. Thus I became a native speaker of English.

For someone raised in the wild (Tarzan?), it would be more difficult, especially if that person were already an adult. They probably wouldn't think in English or any other language. They would have to learn the langauge as opposed to acquiring it, as their having no previous exposure would mean they would be lacking the base (prior knowledge, lexicon) needed to think in English or any language.

  4. Just how many more tracks can you unlock from the first 12? Any more battle levels? It was fun with my friends but we ended up playing 4 player monkey ball.

  5. played for about 6 hours today.

I fear my grades and social life will suffer because of this game, but i am powerless to stop the inevitable.

  6. Question; who's curious enough to try Warp Pipe on this? I am, but I'm also afraid of the results...
a post on the warppipe forums:
You cannot play Mario Kart online until the beta version of Warppipe is released.
front page says itll 'be released before the end of the year.'

  7. I only have

    All Track Mode on Mirror

to finish. It's ever so slowly growing on me, it's like beer; the first time you drink it, it tastes horrible and bitter because you expected it to taste nice like Coke or lemonade. But as you perioidically drink it to get drunk, you get used to the taste and eventually drink it to get intoxicated AND for the taste.

I understand they littered each track with Item Boxes so the rear player would always have something to do, but my main gripe is still that there is FAR to much carnage.
Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.

I reckon this game is less Bass Ale and more Natural Ice.

  9. In an 8 player race, the carnage is a bit much. A lot of luck is involved.

In a 4 player race, the best player usually comes out on top. If you are good you can fend off most attacks.

And nothing (well there are a few) fucks you up like Natty! Almost cheaper than dirt, tastes like water and Ice is even stronger than the regular brew. If you need to get fucked up on a budget (in case you just scratched up the 50 beans for MK-DD) it's the way to go.
