Espically after how awesome the special cup is, you're left wanting MORE tracks with that awesome design, but nope, that's the end.

OK, I'll post examples, because I hope you'll do the same. I'm very interested to hear the good points:

There are 3 tracks I like. The DK one, the Wario stadium, and Rainbow Road (but I think the tube that shoots you up in RR is lame).

Now, every other track is lame. They're incredibly wide, for starters. They never really pose any difficult turns or anything else that would make racing through them interesting. They basically want you to go through the tracks on autopilot, with the smallest effort possible, and concentrate on the weapons to deliver the fun and challenge. I don't agree with that design philosophy: this is a racing game primarily... sure, it's wacky and has weapons, but you're still supposed to race.

I'm doing this from work, but when I get home I can play the tracks one by one and point out what I dislike about them. I'm very interested in hearing details from people who enjoy the game.

I think everything else is great... I love the characters, the carts, the unlockables, I like most of the tracks, but I just wish there were more that were as good as the special cup.

I have the MK for GBA, and play it all the time, but I don't see myself doing it with this one. It's like Mzo said, the emphasis went from racing with the occasional weapon, to get all the weapons every five seconds because alot of the courses are too easy.

I also liked in older MK's how the weapons would actually damage you, and stall you out for a few seconds... it made them important since you didn't pick up a weapon as frequently. In this one, it takes maybe two seconds before i'm back from a banana peel.

  4. I like the track on the ship.

  5. Bowser's Castle!

  6. Major gripes so far:
    • The guy who does the voices for Mario/Luigi/etc. needs to be shot.
    • Waluigi is stupid.

Also, you have no lives, so you can't restart a race. If you fucked up the last race, OH NOS RESTART!! The shitty icing on a shitty game cake.

Step off these nuts, little bitch. I happen to hold Mario Kart and Nintendo in great esteem, and wanted this title to shut up the naysayers. Instead, even I think it fucking sucks. Expect more bitching.

  9. I think EGM hit the nail on the head when they said this game was like an early christmas. I've probably put in nearly 40hrs single player and I can't stop playing it. Mzo, I'm sorry you don't like it but I'm feelin it all the way baby!!. The more I play it, the better it gets. The racing is just soo incredibly fun. The control is awesome, and it just looks so dazzling. Without a doubt the Special Cup is where it's at in this game (best 4 tracks in any cart racer). Some other noteworthy tracks are the Yoshi's Island track (highly technical and just a trill to race on, I found a shortcut on this one that I bet no-one else has, not the boost shortcut), the Stadium track which is like a supercross track is awesome, and of course the DK track. We're having a LAN party this weekend. I'll post impressions on that (If we can all find BB adapters, I've been reading on some sites that Nintendo sent out some more). Me and my crew are gonna be playing this game for years. I'm in class right now but I'm thinking of MKD.

But then again there's nothing stopping you from selling it.
