Co-op is the best part of this game.
I beat All Courses mode on 150cc after 2 days of light playing (I'm hooked on Crimson Skies!), so even you should be able to enjoy this one.
I won't say, "I told you so." No wait... I just did.Originally Posted by Lucas Barton
At least you still have VJ to nominate, eh?
I'll still get MKDD to complete my "N64 update" collection on GCN. I'm looking forward to the co-op mode.

I am also not sure where to put this in rank of the series. I really love this game a lot though, the multiplayer (especially shine theif) is really a lot of fun. The single players is not difficult or anything, although things ramp up on 150cc when everyone is gunning for you hardcore and will get blasted by everything on the last stretch. None of the series games were all that difficult to begin with though. I really like the track design, especially Yoshi Circuit and DK Mountain. I think like the others the game will make or break in the Time Trials and Multiplayer.
Barf! Barf! Barf!
Never before have I played a game in which pressing 'A' at the right time at the beginning of a race is so integral for victory...
...man, this game is so fucking luck-based. Most aggravating game EVER. Every time I get into first... Giant Koopa shell hits me from behind, Bob-omb, banana peel, a red shell or five, and usually something from the stage whacks me for good measure as I'm trying to recover from the item onslaught. Absurd.
...and is it just me, or is the mini-boost the most retardedly difficult thing to do? Turn... counter, steer-in... nothing. Happens occasionally, for some reason, though. This game caused me to break my friggin' controller. That hasn't happened since Virtua Fighter 2 on the Saturn.
This game is pissing me off for the same reason that games like Mario Party piss me off: too luck-based.
Has anyone tried to purposely sit in second place on the last lap & unleash a red shell down the home stretch? I used to do that in MK64. Funny as hell.![]()
Unless you have the timing perfectly, tap the A button as fast as possible before the green light to boost.Originally Posted by ChaoofNee

Doesn't help with blue shells or those crazy-llama Special items...Originally Posted by Kidnemo

True true.
For the most part, I'm normally far enough ahead that even if I get hit with a special item, I can recover with enough time to not lose my spot.
