The only time i use heavy karts is in Time Trial mode. In GP mode I don't find myself hitting max speed enough to justify picking the heavy carts.

im up for it Hero.
Well Mario Kart 64 didn't need unlockables since the courses were much longer and the game just felt more whole. The driving engine was fine so I didn't have any complaints about it. I also liked that the dashing had 2 levels of boosts instead of just one. To me and the multiplayer in 64 was what co-op is to DD.Originally Posted by SpoDaddy
DD's Donkey Kong track is one of the better ones but I thought the 64 version was better in design and it still had that awesome jump although not as dramatically cool looking. The only reason DD's tracks look great is because of the GC's better graphical power such as Rainbow Road's glassy slick track and other nice effects. Nothing I've seen in DD matches the creepy looking Banshee Boardwalk or the complicated and dangerous maze'like track of Yoshi Valley, or even the thrilling Royal Raceway....no tracks that came even close to DK Mountain...
The way I see it Mario Kart 64 has 4 almost infinitely fun and diverse battle arenas to DD's two. In MK 64 the Skyscraper had a good amount of falling hazards which made planting fake item boxes and bannanna peels much more exciting to screw up your opponents. This track also gave the bigger characters like Wario and Donkey Kong more of an advantage since their bumping ability was greater....and lousy battle maps not including Block Fort? I just unlocked Luigi's Mansion and it's a fantastic battle map BTW. Not as good as Block Fort, but better than any other MK64 map by leaps and bounds
The Double Deck arena was great to shoot like a million shells in one area to stay atop the first one and keep shooting homing shells from the top. You could also hide in the corner and shoot your opponent as he/she approaches and also move out of traps/homing items if you were good enough.
Block Fort you know about already, and the Big Donut while not as diverse in gameplay was still fun since it had big blocks to hide behind and the layout always made things dangerous when teetering close to the lava.
I like Double Dash alot for all it has like the fantastic co-op gameplay, nice graphics and the racing mechanics but I'm really not playing it that much right now due to the small amount of tracks and less addictive battle modes.
Mario Kart 64 is still the superior kart game IMO.

Yes I do. When any game is too easy, basically.Originally Posted by Destro777

HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1

I know F-Zero GX is a Sega product branded with the Nintendo logo... but since it's a Nintendo franchise I'd file that one under the "too hard" category regardless.
that is very true. And 3rd party games like Ikaruga wouldnt really count. I'd say the NES days we're the pinnacle of the word "difficulty".
If Nintendo can't strike a good balance in their games like any other good game company, I'm not going to give them a "oh, better luck next time" just because they're Nintendo.Originally Posted by Destro777
I'm not saying it would be the only factor, but if ever I go into a rage and start offing people, Double Dash is going to be a big reason why.
