Thread: Bob Ross

  1. Bob Ross

I didn't know whether this should go in the Art forum, but since I wanted to mostly talk about his show, I figured this is as good a place as any.

So, who here has any Bob Ross love?

I still watch his show every chance I get. It's on PBS (Ch. 21 in NYC) every weekday at 2:30pm.

He can make any landscape look pretty real, and his way of describing everything and his personality just rocks. I can be in a horrible mood before or after, but never during his show. He is the man, God rest his soul. A shame we lost him a few years back.

    My favorite quote:

"It's your world, you can do anything."

  2. I used to enjoy watching his show after school when I was little.

  3. I used to watch that show every now and again. He was very good at them landscape paintings. Very calm looking fella he was from what I remember.

  4. If I'm ever going through channels and happen upon Bob Ross's show I will always stop and watch it no matter what. Bob Ross was the best.

Now let's go ahead and make a happy little tree over here. And let's give him a little friend, a happy little friend.

Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.

  5. I always wanted to see him smoke a happy little joint.

Bob Ross was a great and gentle person.

  7. i really don't have much to add, other than I was/am a big fan.

  8. I always wanted to see him snap.

"Ah yes, look now at all my little friends, all my happy little green friends... HEY WAIT A SECOND I PAINTED THAT ONE THE WRONG SHADE OF GREEN! IT’S NOT HAPPY ENOUGH, GODDAMNIT, I FUCKING HATE YOU, YOU STUPID GODDAMN TREE! BURN! BURN!"

  9. Everything he painted was perfectly happy. It would have never happend.

  10. I would have loved to see Will Farrell do a spoof on him on SNL. Dear god, what a missed opportunity.

As for me, I really enjoyed watching him. He could turn a blank canvas into a pretty piece of work in no time flat, and while I'm not sure I'd classify it as art (a bit too assembly line for my artistic tastes), the man definitely had mad skillz. And, he was just so damn nice! We'll miss ya, Bob. Rest in peace...
