you make sense, but comparing a group of games makes all the difference.

i liked Viewtiful Joe alot. PN03 was cool, buti haven't played a good amount of those games, but im pretty sure some of those weren't that special.

anyways, right now, im not too sure. i might be forgetting something, but my top nominees so far woul be Nintendo for Made In Wario, Namco for Soul Calibur 2, Sega for F-Zero, Capcom for Viewtiful Joe.

i started playing Wind Waker again, and ended up liking it this time around. i don't think i's in the same league as the previous mentioned titles.

  4. Capcom wins on virtue of Viewtiful Joe alone. Sega comes very close with F-Zero.

But the year isn't done, and with Manhunt, Mario Kart, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, Fire Emblem, and so many other quality titles, this thread seems a bit premature.

  5. Well, the year is not over yet, so it's really too early to call this category.

As it stands at this point, I'd also be inclined to say Konami. So far in 2003, they've graced us with gems like Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Silent Hill 3, and Winning Eleven 6. I haven't tried Boktai yet, but I've heard great things about that one, too. Later this year, you've got the games Darkweaver mentioned above (although I don't think Gradius V will make it to the US this year), and also Karaoke Revolution.

AFX mentioned EA, and after giving it some thought, it's very possible that they could sweep up after the year's done. They've already got a solid sports lineup for this year, and have some awesome games in the works like SSX 3, Medal of Honor Rising Sun, Need for Speed Underground, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, and The Sims Bustin' Out.

  6. I just hope we can wait till the end of the year for the favorite games/whatever thread. And let's please keep it to just one thread. Last year there was what, 4 of them with bizarre names? I never even posted a list of my favorites because the threads were all over the place.

Itagaki is a lesser evil than EA.

    Konami isn't making Twin Snakes.
Not to mention that Treasure is making Gradius V instead of one of Konami's team.

If everything turns out as I hope then Ion Storm Austin will be developer of the year.
