Thread: Dynasty Tactics 2: Official

  1. Tactical Jesus combos?! That's freaking awesome!

Trumps sound pretty lame. I can see where you're coming from.

Man! I just gave Ma Chao the ultimate beatdown, "bringing him to his sences." Any advice for the following campaign? I can't seem to get to the Commander of the first battle I have to participate in.

Is the one where you have to get Cheng Du and beat Liu Zhang. I think the commander of the first battle is Zhang Ren. By now you should have all five tiger generals(Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, Huang Zhong, and Ma Chao), put them all in your army and all of them should get +10 morale. If you have Liu Bei as your commander, and Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong as your strategists, you should mop up.

Also, make sure you find a mystic that teaches have a tactic, and have Zhang Fei visit him. He learns the entice tactic which is by far the best tactic in the game and also makes him the best unit game.

  3. Ma Chao hasn't joined me yet. This present campaign I'm on chronicles Ma Chao's rescue from Cao Cao's forces by your's truely, Liu Bei. In the last chapter, Liu Bei was accused of killing Ma Chao's father.

The battle I'm talking about starts Liu Bei near the left corner of the map, and the opposing commander in the furthest corner from him, behind some mountanous terrain. The entirety of my army begins in the forrest, limiting my movement severly. I suppose I should be patient and crawl my way over to the commander while destroying the rest of his army in the process, but I was looking for quick and simple.

By the way, who is Huang Zhong? I'm not too good on their names yet, but I could identify all of the other generals you mentioned, of which I have all but Ma Chao. I might have Huang Zhong, but I can't place the name with the face, so to speak.

  4. I am checking this game out right now, but I am a total n00b to Koei strategy games. I'm borrowing the game so I don't have the manual on me, anyone want to explain how order chains work? It was explained a bit in the tutorial, but now that I've played a little further I've forgotten what they do exactly and how best to use them.

Also, an explanation of how chains work would be helpful, where you got the little glowing basketball net around the target. Much appreciated.

  5. Order Chains is exactly what it says. It's a Strategist's order to other units to preform chain Tactics. When your Strategist (and only your Strategists can do this) Order a Chain, they give everyone in the blue area the ability to link their own Tactics together. In this manner, Liu Bei can chain Charge, into Charge, into Raid, or what have you. You can chain a maximum of four Tactics in this manner.

Chain Linking is when you "tie up" an enemy unit so they can't move, and whatever Tactic you link them with will be preformed as a result of any other commander on the board preforming a Tactic anywhere on the board. Linking is how to totally destroy the opposing army, as you can rack up Tactics combos as high as seven.

After a few short days you're a walking FAQ!
