God, living on SI sucks. Barges exploding, ferries crashing, lockdowns. We get all the crappy shit.

Not to mention the recent bias attacks (which have been happening for YEARS but is just now getting it's 15 minutes). This time next week, no one will care. Just like before.

Yeah I ride the boat almost every day, luckily I wasn't on when that happened but I could have due to an errand I was supposed to run. I almost never stay at the bottom portions though because well...look what happened.

I never thought the pilot would have done some stupid shit like jumping off and trying to commit suicide at home, do it on your OWN time dickhead. I hope he gets a good amount of jailtime.

It sucks 14-17(around this) people died because I never thought this would have happened barring a terrorist attack.

I used to live on Stranded Island. I rode that thing for 7 years. It doesnt surprise me at all considering that almost everytime it docked, I could swear the captains were getting drunk or high! It's too bad that lives had to be sacrificed for one selfish bastard.

What's funny about it is that I read an article in the NY Times last month about Bloomberg (our mayor, for those out of town) went to Wisconsin to christen a new ferry that was just built to join the fleet of SI ferries next year. It cost taxpayers 2 million dollars to the dept of transportation for that friggin' boat. Now some ass goes and crashes one.

One idiot in the wrong place at the wrong time can do much damage. Lord only knows how many accidents are caused per year by people in charge being high. Or drunk.

We now know that Rush is a dope fiend. How many CEOs, senators, and captains of the big vessels get high? We may never know.

How many nuclear physicists? I wonder about Pete Wilson sometimes. Building a nuclear waste dump right next to California's primary water source . . . now that's using the old noodle.
