Thread: New Aliens vs Predator and Blade 3 Trinity info (Updated) Teaser Trailer

  1. Yuck New Aliens vs Predator and Blade 3 Trinity info (Updated) Teaser Trailer

"Alien vs. Predator: This past weekend's "Ghetto Con", better known as the Los Angeles Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention, ran a 5-minute pre-production presentation on Fox's upcoming flick and 'Agent G' has the details: "They mentioned that 'not a frame of film has been shot yet', but starts next week in Prague. They also mentioned that this tape played at their con last month, so it's possible that you know about this presentation already, but I hadn't heard much about it so far, so I figured no one would mind if I provided a quick recap of what was shown. The whole piece was na by director Paul WS Anderson ("Resident Evil").
As far as the story, we are told that in the past, the Predators used the the Aliens for hunting purposes, as a right of passage for the young Predator to become men (er, for lack of a better term). We see one such battle play out in an Aztec temple. Supposedly, the Predators were seen as Gods to the Aztec people (some shades of 'Stargate', it would seem), who built them their temples for worshipping and battle purposes. They showed some storyboards of one Predator defeating an Alien, holding its severed head in victory, as well as some boards where three Predator are overrun by thousands of Aliens, and upon realizing that they have clearly lost the battle, they activate their self-destruct. This is why so many ancient civilizations have been wiped out; Predator hunting failures.
Flash forward to present day, where a group of scientists have found one of the ancient Predator temples under an Antarctic icecap. The story revolves around 5 "teenage" Predators who are set to undergo their right of passage with the Aliens at this newly discovered temple, with the humans caught in the middle. There was also some brief discussion about the Predators testing out their new weapons technology. The video showed one example, a modified shuriken throwing star (apparently this weapon is 'in' again after 'Underworld'), which starts as a small handle with a trigger and expands into 6 elongated razor blades. This was actually pretty cool looking. Anyways, that pretty much rounded out the presentation. They quickly flashed some shots edited together from the two respective franchises, and rounded it out with a tagline (which may or may not be the final one), "Whoever wins...we lose." All in all, hard to tell too much about the final product from the small amount shown".

Sounds interesting, and I do have hope in this project

"Blade: Trinity: That crazy Canadian 'Sneaky Pete' is back with one cool thing to look out for in the final vampire actioneer currently filming in Vancouver: "I was on a TV set in North Vancouver BC the other night, and whilst there I found someone connected to one of the animal wranglers on Blade III. Seems there will be Rotweiller vampire dogs in the upcoming sequel and apparently the dogs will be of the same type of super vampire (ie. The Reapers) as the ones in the last movie, you know the ones with the head splitting act. There is a scene where Kris Kristofferson is bound up and the dog wakes him up, at some point a command is given and the dog's head splits open as it feigns an attack at Kris. The script sounds pretty cool, and I can hardly wait to see the FX on the dogs". And you thought Milla Jovovich jump kicking that zombie doberman in "Resident Evil" rocked, can't wait for this one.

Hmm, Vampire dogs, with Reaper like heads? Interesting.

  2. Alien Vs. Predator sounds interesting, but I'm disappointed that it takes place on Earth and in the present day. I was so hoping that it would be like the original script that was floating around years ago that took place in the same time and setting as Aliens and involved a human woman joining the Predators and being trained by them as a hunter. All the while the Predators, Aliens, and Colonial Marines are all running around fighting each other. Now THAT would have been cool.

And that little Blade: Trinity tidbit sounds pretty damn cool. The dogs whose heads split open sound like the dogs in Silent Hill 3. The fact that Jessica Biel kicked so much ass in the Texas Chainsaw remake makes me look forward to Blade 3 all the more. This flick's gonna ROCK. I just hope Goyer make the tone a little more like it was in the original. I loved Blade 2 but thought Del Toro made the mood a little too comic book-like with the colored lights and all. I like the gritty tone the original Blade possessed better.

Good reporting, Despair. Bring me more info!!

Yeah, If they would have used that script it would have been great. Still the new info tidbits show some promise.

  4. New artwork for the film:

  5. That is totally awesome. I like the current day setting too, I'm always reading the comics that show it in today's setting and I wonder how they deal with the Aliens.

  6. I'm wondering if Paul is going to be using both the Giger and Cameron style of aliens for this.

I wouldn't mind seeing this as a link to where Weyland started.

I didn't notice any major difference between the Alien design from Alien to Aliens...

The more I think about this, the stupider it seems to have made the AvP movie set in the modern day. It totally undermines the signifigance of the original Alien movie, since that was supposed to be the first reported contact between the Alien race and humans. No one remembers that these things were on Earth 200 or so years before...?!?

Man, this movie needed to be set in the future so bad...

You see, Anderson is a retard. The whole Colonial Space Marine thing from Aliens was so damn popular...if he used his brain, he'd realize that people have wanted to see them in action again for a long time. This was the perfect chance to bring them back again...oh, well.

Agreed, thats why in my mind AvP is set in a alternate universe.
