Thread: New OPM on stands now!! Includes FF:Eternal Calm movie

  1. I got the demo today. NFS is awesome but the controls felt pretty floaty and a bit unrestrained. Other than that the graphics are amazing, doesn't look like the framerate is too high though.

Also played some FFX-2, its charming. I haven't played FFX so I'm missing a huge chunk of the story. I won't watch the Eternal Calm movie but I'll try to track down a non GH version of X if I can.

I-Ninja was cute and actually pretty cool but I certainly wouldn't buy it for PS2 as the graphics are too jaggy. I can do without the gold coin collecting but it reminds me of another Goemon game without the wacky charm.

XIII was decent, nothing too crazy other than the nifty style.

The plastic silver covering covers it with 3 images of Yuna, Rikku and Paine. The actual cover is the pose of Yuna with the guns but a close shot.

You can't see the actual cover of the mag. The plastic bag that it comes in has the three girls on the cover, and says FFX-2 demo and Eternal Calm movie on it.

  3. Sadness... I guess nobody has it yet

  4. Got the mag today as well.

We seen I-Ninja before, but this time you could actually control the game, and it was pretty fun. Dj is liked it quite a bit, so its definate rent for us, once it released.

Havent tried any of other demos yet, but did watch Eternal Calm(cant say that it was all that good, but it does set up the story of FFX-2, but the quality was pretty bad.

  5. I still don't have my issue yet. I called Ziff-Davis last night, and they told me I should have it before Nov 9 (based on my home address).

EDIT: Got it last night. FFX-2 plays very fast. I had no idea what I was clicking, but none of the characters ever died. There were some corny parts... it seems like it'll be a fun game.

  6. Finally found a copy yesterday. It was the last copy too.

I agree with RedCo FFX-2 is FAST. At first I had no idea what was going on, but once I figured out the trigger attacks and the costume change system, I was in LOVE. The gameplay is flat out sexy. I have not truely been excited about a FF game since VII. I wasn't even sure I was going to pick this up at launch, but after the playing the demo, this is my most anticipated title for the rest of 2003.

    Agreement + 100%!!!

I'll be damned if the game didn't tell me I "scored" an Elixer. What the Hell is that all about?

I also checked out the FFX-2 spread in the magazine itself, and I must say, Yuna and Paine's Berzerker outfits are totally crazy cool.

  8. I picked up Greatest Hits FFX, time to get cracking.....

  9. Funny as it is, I'm kinda glad that I had read nothing about the game at all, before I played the demo. It was nice to be pleasently surprised.

For some reason it is just really strange to see somebody with a Wolf as their avatar, having not played a FF game nearly 2 years after it's release.

  10. Yeah, first FF game I've ever owned too.
