    Arumana no Kiseki

Konami released Arumana no Kiseki for the Famicom Disk System in 1987. It's not Konami's best 8-bit game or anything but I still think it was good enough that it should have got a domestic release. It was basically an Indiana Jones-ish platformer with a mildly Castlevania-ish vibe to it. You had a variety of weapons and a grappling hook to reaching higher ledges.

  2. This was one of Konami's FDS efforts I was more interested in. Agreed, not one of their best 8-bit games, but enjoyable nontheless. The graphics and music are, of course, vintage Konami. I never did play through the game in full but I enjoyed what I did play.

I did finally track down an actual copy of the game not too long ago, not that I have a working FDS to play it on yet.

Did you ever play any of Konami's other FDS exclusive titles like Meikyuu Jiin Dababa or Ai Senshi Nicol? Meikyuu Jiin Dababa seems like it was a heavy influence on Startropics, while Ai Senshi Nicol reminded me of the overhead levels on Blaster Master.

I have played those. They seemed decent although the constant jumping in Meikyuu was a little annoying.

That and it doesn't take lone before Meikyuu Jiin Dababa becomes very difficult.
