Thread: Metropolismania

  1. News Metropolismania

I've seen this game at TRU for about $10 new. It looks a bit like Animal Crossing but I'm not sure. Has anyone played it? Is it worth a purchase?

  2. I got it for the same reasons that you stated. I found it to be very unpolished. It's odd to put it in words. It is real life, town building. You really just put up buildings, meet the new people, try to get friends names out of them, and rinse and repeat. You could find many better ways to spend the $10 but it wouldn't be the worst $10 you ever spent either. Don't buy it thinking you're getting anything like Animal Crossing though.

  3. Are there any activities like in AC (fishing, bug hunting, etc)? It sounds a bit more like Sim City than AC.

  4. It is a lot more like Sim City than AC. I say stear clear.

  5. Just picked this up from TRU for free (buy one budget game, get the second free.) Enjoying it so far.

  6. I know this is an old topic, but I just recently picked this game up thanks to Circuit City's big $5 sale.

At first, I was really liking the game. Then finding out that people can say "we need X in our neighborhood" when there was that exact thing not much more than a block away gets annoying real fast. If they game was a bit more logical about how close things have to be in order for them to count as being in the area, I think the game would be a lot more fun.
