Thread: This generation's sequels to classic series

  1. Shinobi-the best Shinobi in the series

    Megaman-There hasn't been a good one since 8

Zelda WW-Better than both N64 Zeldas. But not as good as LttP

    Mario Sunshine-Couldn't get into it

    Wario World-Dissapointing

Rygar-Good not great. Better than the NES game.

Sonic Adventure- 1 is still one of my favorite games. 2 sucked when you weren't playing as Sonic/Shadow

Metroid Fusion-Not one of my favorites

Metroid Prime-The best game of this generation.
Every bit as good as Super Metroid. Maybe Better.

Prince of Persia-Never liked the Old ones. By the Demo the one could be game of the year!

    Maximo-great game

    Phantasy Star Online-Sucked

Contra SS-Really good. I don't get why people hate this game.

Final Fantasy-X was okay. Better than 8 but not as good as any of the others.
All this fighting. Over toys and games?

  2. Shinobi - I'm confused by how much I enjoyed this game. On the one hand, the thing is pretty difficult, bland, and repetitive. Yet, I kept playing, pouring more time and effort in to it than either Rygar or Splinter Cell (two other games purchased in the same period).

Megaman - I hate them after Mega Man X4

Street Fighter III - Easily one of my favorite games of all time.

Castlevania - I absolutely adore AoS, and though I wanted to punch my Gamecube (player) in frustration, CotM was pretty tight. The PS2 iteration sits wrapped atop my Commodore 64 monitor.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - The demo looked awesome, but I can't judge till I've played the full game.

Sonic Adventure - Hated it. Shitty hair-metal, spasmatic camera, and... who the hell are these other playable characters?

Rygar - Not bad, though definately not worth the 74.99 I spent. As mentioned repeatedly heretofore, you can only squish slugs for so long.
