I don't see why you even care, unless you try to support shmups if they make it to america too. I allways end up sounding like a bloody troll but I can't see how anyone cares about xbox versions of shooters and fighters either (I guess netplay is nice for fighters), I mean if you don't have a chipped or JP PS2 by now you(not meaning you dude) don't really care that much.

Really cause by the time most shmups end up here any serious gamer has gone and imported them. I mean gods, there's not much to translate and no one really cares of they're translated or not with the advent of the net and gamefaqs script translations.
We're stuck in a catch 22 here.
People like me won't support domestic shmup release cause they bring nothing new to the table and took a year to get here.
Companies won't release shmups here in a timely matter because they don't sell well and jerks like me already HAVE the import.

Disgaea and La Lupucelle which i dare say have a similiar sized US fan base DO wait because they do gain much with the translation and often get both the japanese and english voices plus a little bonus here and there.

Thus i blame everyone.

I do have a JP PS2 and am generally inclined to import (I'm 75/25 in favor of imports with my recent purchases) but it's still annoying to see the big fat suits make such decisions like stripping or castrating Tate and generally domineer over those who wish to being the games over.

Castrating Tate (i.e. Not allowing the player to use Tate with correctly rotated control) isn't as bad- 'cause then you could rotate your joystick 90 degrees or even modify it.

Yeah, I've been confussed about this for a while too. I want my Xbox version, damnit, although I will settle for a PS2 version.

Perfect solution and a rather elegant CYA. If you tate your TV despite their spiel there, you obviously know what the hell you're doing (it is hoped).

If only all other domestic shmup publishers followed suit. Just because Giga Wing is fine in Yoko doesn't mean SnS2 is- Giga Wing was originally made for Yoko, SnS2 was not. Savvy gamers deserve the option.
