WE CAN BE PISS PALS!!
When I moved out of my house for a while I created a "diet" of sorts.
Step one: Work as a busboy in the Hard Rock Cafe.
Step two: Eat only what you can steal. Save your money for important things. Like beer. Don't eat any bread.
Step three: Spend all free time drunk, stoned, and playing Street Fighter with your roommates.
I lost about thirty pounds in less than three months. I don't understand it... but it worked for me.
Key ingrediants here are "eat less, and excercise".
Imagine that.

Exercise and eat right.
While calories are burned, and muscle is built at the gym: Weight is lost in the kitchen.
All the exercise in the world won't make you lose weight unless you decrease your calorie intake while increasing your metabolic rate. Start jogging and eat healthier foods keeping portion control in mind.
Works most of the time for almost everybody.
Yes, I know, I'm a total girl about my weight. I'm 5'7", so in reality no, being 150lbs is not obese. But I don't like the extra weight that I have, and would prefer to be back in the 130-135lbs range. At the size, for my height and build, I look the best.
And thanks for all of the advice. Some of them I knew - be strong about exercise, eat right, more smaller meals. One of my big vices is that I drink a can or two of Coke a day, and I really have to get back to only drinking water. Food wise, I'm trying my hardest to make all of my food, and not buy any sorts of pre-packaged stuff.
As for my girl, she lives in Japan - so, yeah, it's a bit of a long distance relationship.

Not really, I've read several bodybuilding books that say, as long as you keep up your protein intake, you can realistically lose 2-3 pounds of fat a week and retain (and even continue to build) muscle mass. Now that I think about it, however, this might not really apply to a normal person like Shidoshi who doesn't really work out or exercise much. For someone like him, maybe a pound a week is a bit more realistic. I was just thinking that he seemed to want to get the weight off fast so his woman doesn't think he's a great big fatass, and if he did what it took, he could do the 2-3 pounds a week.Originally Posted by diffusionx
Exactly. Most people get frustrated easily and give up. There's no quick fix in getting the weight off, especially if you want to do it in a manner that makes it easy to keep it off.Just takes time man. Patience is the key.

Wow, you must be one little guy...I'm 6'0" and weigh between 190 and 195, and I'm fairly muscular. I could probably stand to lose 5 more pounds (and I'm trying), but otherwise I'm happy.Originally Posted by shidoshi

Well, the relationship started during my time over there, and by the time it came time for me to return to the States, we were nine months into a relationship. So, it wasn't a case where I could just say, "Well, it's been swell, nice knowing ya!" *heh* But yeah, it's a total pain. She's coming over here to stay for three months, but what we do past that... who knows. My end goal is to go back over there, but I don't see that happening soon.

So I have a question - how does someone with hypoglycemia get a good workout without destrying themselves? I'm told to eat more than most, but I don't gain much, and my blood sugar is low, so I can't exactly cut that. I'm just looking to build tone on my muscles anyway, not drop 50 pounds =p
