Granted I haven't played the game yet, because I'm waiting for the Xbox version, but I'm positive you can enchant arrows.

Is there a guide on how to use the Construction Set somewhere? I'd love to add stuff, but I don't know the first thing is to do.

  3. There's an editor FAQ at GameFAQS. Sorry I can't link directly. http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/game/3365.html

I have no idea how useful it is, because I'm not going to read it and then cry about how I can't run the PC version and so will not get a chance to use the editor.

I have the game and I know you absolutely can't enchant arrows. They will not show up under the object selection when you try to enchant something. The bow, yes, my armor, yes, even my shoes, yes, but not arrows for some reason. They simply are not selectable.

I've tried this with nearly a half dozen different kinds of non-magical arrows and it won't let me do it with any of them.

As for the construction set, it looks a bit daunting at first, but once you fool around with it a bit you'll find it's very easy to use. Open up the help file it comes with and go throught he two tutorials.

  5. Jet Grind Morrowind... it sounds so wrong.

If you think this thread is bad now though, wait until the Xbox version hits this week, unless those console-loving bastards decide to make their own thread.

There is balancing in the game, but it's completely level based. Once Kei hit level 30, winged twilights and golden saints suddenly started appearing all across the countryside, but by then she could take them down without needing to heal. Only those poison-breathing monsters give her any trouble.

This whole game is chock full of dungeons and other places to explore. After three weeks of playing I'm still stumbling onto new ones. Check your map. All the ruins are put there someplace, with the bigger drawings usually meaning bigger rewards. Most of the caves and other places are there too.

You can't actually join the Twin Lamps. There's just two missions you can do for them, but I don't know who to talk to. Try the official forums if you're interested, but to me it doesn't seem worth it.

Kei only uses a daedric short sword, but I swing really fast and get a lot of hits in, since her skill level is now 105. Not as fun as marksmanship though. I can kill a cliff racer hiding behind a rock that's only leaving a tiny bit of wing exposed.

BTW, my new character is named Sauron. He'd probably want a peek at that ring of yours.

  6. Scream for me TNL!!!!

Okay everyone - I FINALLY got my computer yesterday - set it all up - (had to readjust my desktop to my old windows preferences - my god - XP's "normal" desktop looks so gay until you do so) - and easily installed Morrowind!

Okay, so my dude is an Imperial 'rouge' named Conan (I don't think I'm happy with this guy - I'll prolly change to another character next time I play) but anyway - I just wanted to jump in real quick. I like the way the game controls, it is easier than expected. It was even easier when I customized the controls.

I only played for a little bit cause I was so tired, but was wondering where the "inn" was in the very first village that you're in upon entering Morrowind?

Anyhow - I was wandering around and actually went outside the town a little bit and walked into some cave which was a bad mistake because some guy yelled out a threat and charged me, luckily I already had my little dagger out and I sidestepped the fucker and just brutally murdered the hell out of him. But I was so freaked out that instead of carrying on I just ran out of the cave and back to the saftey of the town.

BTW - What will happen if you withdraw your weapon in front of the guards? Ah, since I'll be restarting anyway I'll just up and find out.

The cool part was before I was going to turn everything off and clean up my room (damn styrofoam) b/c I was getting tired, it started turning evening time in the game and I climbed up to the top of the watchtower where the fire was burning and looked around at the stars coming into the sky - man....I dunno, but that was just an awesome moment...Its awesome that cool stuff like that can happen in a game!!!

As you can tell I am tired in this post - have to go to my one summer school class in two hours and then work - but I'll have most of tommorow to really dig in the game!!!!

I'm sure I could think up some more funny screenshots like in the old days (Old days, WTF this thread has been around so long!) Anyhoo I've got a day off tommorow so I should play it then

  8. BTW -how do you take snapshots of the screen in the game. I tried the print screen funtion but it did not work - and I know for sure I'm missing the plot somewhere. Any help would be appreciated. thanks!!!! (arrg fuck! hafta go to work soon!! damn this world!!!)

You have to go into morrowind.ini and change the screenshot setting from 0 to 1 first. Then print screen will work.

Working on my new character now, who is totally ignoring the main plot as he advances through the ranks of the Telvanni, with the odd job from the Marag Tong on the side. He lives in Vos, because is near his patron and a remote place to hold his experiments.

After doing that, does the 'printscreen' funtion simply create a picture and place it in some directory somewhere? Or does it copy it to paintbrush where you'd have to go and tranfer it to bmp format?
