heh - I guess all the XBOX ppl got tired of hearing us babble on and on about the greatness of the PC version - Mode7 up and created an official XBOX Morrowind thread. Lol...deep down inside they know the PC version is better!!!!joking!!!
Well, I'm just about to start a new character and play the game seriously (I was just wanting to jump in with my first character). One of the things I noticed was my near automatic inclination to play the game like a standard RPG (you know, "oh Balmora - okay, the game wil progress when I go there!")....HOWEVER, I know all too well that this is no normal RPG.
So my question is this: What did you guys do the first time you started playing, did you try and follow the quest and eventually decided to do something else? Or did you just do whatever you wanted to do and ignored the main quest right off the bat.
I figure I'll go for the former - I think I need to take that transportation animal thing to Balmora because I'm pretty much too weak and too poor to go walking about in those goddamn creepy woods!
And another thing I've noticed - this game really freaks you out. When I was checking out the outskirts of the town in those woods areas, I was constantly flipping around to make sure I was not being followed or anything like that - especially at nighttime - but daytime is a bit like that as well.
Wait until you go underground in some haunted ancestral tombs. Then you'll really get freaked out. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but this game gets creepier as you go on. It's a very dark tale.
The screenshots are thankfully taken in JPG. It just saves it to your Morrowind directory.
My first two characters played it straight at least in the beginning, at least far enough to meet the guy in Belmora, but my new character Sauron just totally ignored the main quest and has been building up a reputation in various factions instead. It is sort of strange to play a game that doesn't force you to follow the main plotline, especially one where you can play for weeks and never even start on it, but that's part of the fun.Originally posted by station82o

And I agree with Stibbons, the tombs are damn spooky. I found the sewers, shrines, and drawven ruins spooky at times too. I think it's a testament to how much this game is able to draw you in.
Only played a little today. Made a sword called Mr Frosty that does 50 points of frost damage, which I thought would be too cheap until I ran into a place filled with enemies with perfect magic resistance. Surprisingly hard fight for my 40 level character, but I got a full set of glass armor out of the deal. Not really great protection wise, but it looks really cool.![]()

So, if this armour is made out of glass, as you alledge, then can you see your character's frank and beans? Assuming you play a male. And if you play a fenale, can you see her jubblies?Originally posted by Ammadeau

But do not mess with his vacation.
I just got the game for the XBOX today. Absolutely amazing. Anyone who doesn't yet have it, needs to do so.
I sat down with the game, only planning on playing a little bit. Ended up playing for 5 hours straight. It's that damn good. One of the best RPGs I've played in a long time. It's actually probably one of the best RPGs I've ever played.
One thing I was a little disapointed with on the XBOX version were the graphics. Having seen the game running on a high end PC, the XBOX version's graphics are a bit underwhelming. Ah well. This is the best I'm gonna get, my PC couldn't even come close to handling this monstrosity of a game.
Siek, you lucky bastard. Nobody round these parts has it yet, except the gamestop affilates, and they're all overpriced and only selling to preorders.Plus I have to go visit family in Houston over the weekend, so no MW for me until Sunday night.

You folks have given me some inspiration. I too will create a character named Sauron, and work toward creating the Ring of Power.
The armor is made of an opaque green glass, so you can't see through it. Even so, my character (who is female BTW) wears clothes under her armor, and even a skirt over the lower portion, you you'll have to get your kicks someplace else.Originally posted by Jim Justice

All the reports of the Xbox version have been great so far. I wouldn't mind some reduced graphics so kind of makes me wish I waited and saved a little money. Oh well.

Hey Lord Perrin! Good to see you drop on by the Morrowind thread!! Hope you stick around man! Dude, both TracerBullet and I live in Houston - you should try to pay us a visit if you could. I work at the Borders Books and Music in Stafford at the Fountains shopping center off of HWY 59 - I go by the name of Sean there.
And Tracer works at the Gamestop in Sugarland (right next to stafford - just down the highway a couple miles) on Town Center Blvd off of HWY 6 near the Barnes and Nobles. He goes by the name of Matt.
*goes off to play more*
DO NOT come to Houston and NOT pay me and Station a visit. Always good to meet a fellow WoT fan and gamer (one who isn't interested in console wars or collecting things just because they're rare like to goons I work with). Visit you must.Originally posted by LordPerrin
