Thread: The Official Morrowind Thread

  1. Would you guys recommend I get the Xbox or the PC version if I wanted to get this game? Keep in mind:

    01. My PC is 1.3 ghz, 384 megs of RAM, Radeon 3D card (soon to be GeForce 3 I think). So it can run Morrowind alright, I think.

    02. I do not give a shit about the user-created mods and stuff that the PC version would bring. I dont have enough time for the game that Betheseda released, so I wont even dabble in the stuff that other people do.

    03. Ultimately I think I would rather sit on my bed and play than sit on a chair.

    04. My Xbox is starving for attention. It hasnt seen a new game since Project Gotham in January.

    05. All things considered, I doubt I will get either of them. There's probably other stuff that needs my money.

But which do you guys recommend?

Your PC will handle it beautifully, but I'd get the Xbox version. It looks worse and will run a bit slower than it would on your PC, but the lying down on your bed and not destroying your ass and wrists by playing on a PC for the 100+ hours this game takes makes the Xbox version lovely. I have both and haven't touched the PC version since the Xbox game's release.

  3. thats system will definitly play Morrowind. Get the PC version....trust me - worth the editor. And also, it'll help you stop being a slouch!! Sit up straight on a chair and play...no lying around!!!! LOL! :jest:

Ahh, good to know that, since I'm starting to get sick of losing half my heath over a treasure chest exploding . Thanks a bunch, now to continue my difficult pilgrimage for the temple.

  7. Ok, I need some serious help in Morrowind now.

I'm levetating, and I can't stop. I can go up as high as I want, but I can't stop it from happening. I've been on my pilgrimage and now I'm in Vivec, and I gave the potion of levetation to the shrine that I was suppossed to, and it gave me a levetating power, but it wont stop .

  8. I also need some help.

I helped a girl escape from Tel Fyr tower, and she gave me a locket to give to her dad, and told me to look up her Dad's friend in Ald'ruhn to find out where he is. OK, so i find the guy in Ald'ruhn who is supposed to tell me where her dad is and i can't trigger any reaction from him about the girl, her dad, or the locket. So what am i supposed to do? Do i have to be a member of his House? because i'm not. I tried all conversation choices and buttered him up to 100, and nothing. Sorry if i'm too vague about names and stuff, but who can remember all these wierd names?

It's just a long lasting potion. It will wear off after a while. You're actually supposed to make use of the flying to help in the pilgramage, I think. Besides, levitating is really useful. You don't want it to wear off.

  10. Sorry stormy - can't help you there, I haven't gotten as far. Good luck tho.

Right now I'm just working on leveling up my character like a hardass - just trying to make him the best I can at the moment before I take on anymore quests.

One question: Why is it that when I fight NPC's who are armed with something, that their hits take off huge chunks of my life bar and my hits seemingly don't do anything? When ever I fight NPC's who don't have weapons - It is an easy fight granted - but it takes like over 30 hits from my Daikatana to bring them down!!! Whats going on there? I wanna find out what the problem is before I start engaging in anymore combat - I dunno, my armor is pretty good right now - its stolen Imperial stuff.

Anyway, who else here has their own house in the game? I DO I DO!!!

Its that Neseda Manor in Balmora - the guy who you were supposed to pick pocket for a key for the theives guild. I killed him instead. Sold everything that he had in the house for some good money and now its officially my house in the game (before I considered Caius Cossades place to be my main base) - have all my weapons and armor that I don't carry laid out all nice on the tables. All my books and scrolls on another table - and a cool shelf-rack type thing for all my potions! And a bedroom up stairs with a nice big bed!!! HOME SWEET HOME!!
