Thread: The Official Morrowind Thread

  1. Spent all of my play time making the Amulet of the Scrouge, which basically summons 6 uber rats to fight people you don't like. My first attempt was really ass backwards so I had to start from scratch, but I ran into a major problem. Basically, the scripting language only does what they needed it to do and the only way to find this out is by trial and error.

    For instance, the function:

"_amm_scourge_rat"->Disable should work, but doesn't. It works for NPCs, objects, and other random stuff, but not for creatures. Why? Because they never needed it to so they didn't bother coding it. -_-

I've thought of a workaround, but it's a pain in the ass and it's messy besides. I'd rather have some nice neat coding, but Morrowind seems to perfer the sloppy approach.

Sigh, I quit this game about 3 quests into the Blades Quests. It's quite boring and repetetive. After getting the post possible armor and weapons, and then started the Blades Quests, you really have nothing left to do except toy with magic and do more quests, which are usually pretty easy and most likely contain walks across the largest god damn world.

Did you find the "post" possible armor and weapons on your own, or did you run over to gamefaqs and get the information? Cause the "post" weapons and armor are pretty difficult to find on your own. So how come it's the game's fault that you decided to go get the information necessary to find the "post" equipment in the game and made the game incredibly easy? You can sap the fun out of just about every game in existence if you read walkthroughs and faqs before playing.

More advice for Dyne (although Gongos is 100% correct): if you're not playing a fighter-type character, don't do fighter's guild quests until you're more powerful.

  10. I agree that some of the other weapons are more fun to find, but I still think the Daedric Dai-Katana enchanted with absorb health 54 points on strike (with a Golden Saint/Ascended Sleeper soul, or Vivec's soul is you really want to powergame) is easily the best weapon in the game.
