He should make whatever the hell he wants to make. Now everyone say The Hobbit.
I'm curious what else you guys have read that you think Peter Jackson could bring to life on screen.
For me, I'd like to see one of more of the following:
The Fionavar Tapestry (The Summer Tree, The Wandering Fire, & The Darkest Road) by Guy Gavriel Kay. Kay brilliantly realized a fantasy world of the highest order in this trilogy. I always thought it would be a beautiful anime, but Escaflowne took a bunch of its elements. Seeing it in live action would be even better. The story arc itself has one or two faults that could easily be fixed in movie form. Basically, it's about 5 college students from Earth who are taken by a friendly mage to Fionavar where they fulfill each a distinct role in bringing down Rakoth the Unraveller. It sounds generic, but it's anything but. It's quite formulaic, fantasy-wise, but the world Kay created is just so amazing!
Lyonesse (Suldrun's Garden, The Green Pearl, & Madouc) by Jack Vance- I confess I haven't read the entire trilogy, but I read Suldrun's Garden back in the '80s and it's one of my all time favorite books. I didn't know it was a trilogy until a couple of years ago. I'm reading The Green Pearl now. Unfortunately, all of these have been out of print for years. They take place in the Elder Isles, before the time of Arthur, and incorporate elements of Grimm's and Anderson's fairy tales in a high fantasy setting with several lands at war. Brilliant writing, excellent characters, wonderful intrigue.
The Shattered Horse by S. P. Somtow. This is after the Trojan War and is a continuation of the Odyssey of sorts, though following Astaynax. This was written in the '80s as well and I believe has been out of print forever. Somtow is a historian and this book is so incredibly visceral and well plotted, seeing it as a movie would be an incredible experience for me. I don't think he's written anything on this level since, resorting to writing Crow books or whatnot. This book, however, is impeccable.

Was that Evil Green and Good Green?
That was me moving faster than the speed of the forum, thus creating good and evil versions of myself.

None.
He should concentrate on making something original, like the earlier films that made him a legend long before he was a household name.
Something with spastic action that he can translate to the screen very well.
If he regresses to the crap he made before he's a chump.Originally Posted by PBMax

I would love to see Jackson go back to his roots, and give us another film in style of Brain Dead or Bad Taste.
