Thread: Final Fantasy XII Official Thread

  1. tHINK i'LL just pick up V.

  2. So, I got the Morbid Urn/Canopic Jar item from the bazaar, for 250,000 gil (god it was hard saving that up). It makes all foes drop tons of rare shit, including Arcana, which is normally only from Rare Foes and is used for all the good bazaar stuff. You make that 250,000gil back so quickly.

Also finally went and got a few more Espers. The damn one that seals your magick is a pain in the ass. I ended up just whoring Hi-Ethers and Quickening it to death to get it over with. Still need to find one more before I can do the Henne Mines shit. edit: Cocks. You need MORE than 10 espers, not 10 espers. I want the damn mines.

  3. So ages ago, I largely (and stupidly) ran through the Stilshrine of Miriam. Since the bosses went down fairly easily, I figured I was fine.

I think that lack of leveling finally caught up to me, because I'm fucking livid at this game. I'm in the Sochen Cave Palace, saved at the only crystal in there, can't fight the ghost boss and christ, my party can't even take three or four standard enemies at once. Highest character's at level 30, lowest at 21.

I'm forty hours into this game, so I really don't want to quit, but goddamn. I think I have some serious tedious leveling to do.

  4. I just fought that guy earlier tonight and slayed him with a team at level 31-32. Never even had to trade anyone out or use any quickenings.

What kind of sucks about your position is that on the other side of a couple of doors is an accessory you can buy that gives you double EXP. I wouldn't give up, but I'd level out a team to that 31 mark, then worry about the others after you get a couple of the aforementioned items (I forget its name). Keep some cash handy, cause they're 5000 a piece.

Head back out to just before you fought the Mandragoras (those 5 little fuckers) and level out on the undead guys in there. They're pretty easy to control, give good EXP, and you never get swamped by them. Where you are now with the Wendigos is gonna' be a lot rougher on you to level up. Shit, if you can handle the mental torment, go back out to where you got the Mandragora Hunt (the crystal), and use the map just past it to level out on the Courals. They're easy as pie, and you get good EXP from them.
    Boo, Hiss.

  5. Well, last time I got stuck, I had some shitty weapons. Both licensed and purchased.

After playing a bit more just now... This time, I think it might have something to do with having shitty magik resist for almost everyone combined moreso than the levels. Good to hear about the EXP doubler. And wow, I totally had a really shitty weapon for my lvl 30 character just now. Accidental equip.

Gonna try this boss again either real soon or tomorrow.

  6. Yeah, you need good megic defense. Also, watch out for his Mazer Eye toward the end of the fight. It was dealing on my lvl 32 guy at 1200 or so damage.
    Boo, Hiss.

  7. I can come so close to it, but by the time he's at about an eighth or so health and divides into four, my MP is out and I'm more or less fucked.

Maybe I actually do have to level. =/

  8. Tain:Here's what you do, outside of the castle on the plains there are these coerl's. Equip Someone with the Thief's cuffs, Equip at least one person with an ice elemental weapon (Trident/Icebrand), and kill them in a chain. Run away from everyone else while you do this, you'll make a lot of money, and they drop/you steal these items called Embroided Tippets (Double XP). In about an hour of running around the plains you'll have about 3 of those or more, and 100k gold.

  9. Maybe you guys should do some sidequests or something instead of trying to grind. Go do some Hunts, explore your map, things like that and just walk from place to place and you'll be levelled no problem. I never tried to level even once and ended up at like double what Nomi was.

I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging or better-then-you or something, but I really have no clue where all this trouble that you guys are having is coming from. I pretty much just went everywhere I could, explored, and did whatever I could find to see what else was going on in the world and everything else just worked out.

I'm at 22 across the board and I just got to Jahara. Don't know what you've been doing. You know you can fight those enemies you see, right?
