Thread: Final Fantasy XII Official Thread

  1. in my replay im finishing the sandsea right now, when your about to fight the big turtle dude to help the sandsea people, the moogle says something about them having the tresure of the sandsea, and how you can claim it. Anyone figure out where or what it is? it slipped my mind the last play

  2. I was wondering the same thing. I passed that part a couple of hours ago.
    Boo, Hiss.

The treasure is the flower that pops up after you kill the turtle and go back to the moogle? You use the berries from the flower on Garuda for penis damage, so it's not even worth going back for imo.

I got some of those monographs (the beast and undead ones), and after redoing the tomb several times, it seems to just make the zombies drop a billion pebbles.

But I have to say, gambits own. I like being able to run around in the tomb and not do anything or hit any buttons except a periodic cura.

2/3 of the augment part of the board down for all six characters. :0 Think I may finish it off completely before moving on with the game.

If you go back from the sandsea to the area with all the towers that you crossed the shifting sands on there's a cutscene. I don't remember exactly how it goes, but follow the direction that the little guy runs in and eventually you'll come to a cutscene with all the sand people. I think you have to meet the guy before you fight the turtle and then the other parts happen after you fight the turtle. If you want to know what the treasure is:

The sand guy is judged as weak by the queen because he sought outside help (yours) to kill their nemesis, and so they kill him. He then transforms into a flower - Eskir Berries IIRC.

Sorry if that's a bit off, it was weeks ago and I figured it out mostly by wandering around.

  5. The Eskir Berries you get int he Sandsea as a treasure are good for the boss fight before Raithwall's Tomb, that flying thing. I got them and used them on him, it essentially made him weaker than the desert normal monsters.

  6. I was in Raithwall's Tomb and I flipped that switch to make that wall come down half way. Then I realized if I went any further, I might not be able to return to the Lusuhisshu mines with Vossler in my party (I regretted not taking advantage of having Larsa in my party with a passion), so I tracked back to the entrance of Raithwall's tomb and used a teleport stone to go back to the mines. Back at the mines with Vossler in my party, I must've racked up over 80,000 gil in about an hour and a couple of minutes, along with a million license points. I basically wiped out all the augments and +HPs for everyone in my party (Basch, Vaan and Fran).

dunno if I will ever use Balthier, the dude is still stuck at lvl 10, everyone else is between 18-25.

  7. Dude, Balthier is in my main party, easily my second-best character. He's a fucking tank for me right now, good with the crossbow when I need range and great with a sword (1 or 2H, even, he has a Claymore I use sometimes). How the hell aren't you using him? Give him a double exp accessory and use him!

hmmmm, I definitely need that accessory. That would save me the trouble.

I think it all started with Basch joining the party. Balthier for some reason became the odd man out. I needed Fran for her healing and Vaan...dunno why, just stuck with him. Basch was also the first to get a quickening, so I thought I needed to have him in the party.

Basch right now is the strongest in my party.

  9. My party's bitch (Ha!) is Penelo. I don't really like her, and I just throw her in to keep the levels semi-even.
    Boo, Hiss.

  10. Fuck Vaan. He's my heal/support spell bitch, and that's when he even gets playtime. He's at 20 and Fran's at 30.

Almost all my guys have gone the same route to get all the HP and speed augments, except Penelo...I took her full caster first, and she can do hellacious damage at times. I find it funny how this plays like an MMORPG, I have the tanks move in, build aggro, and then let the caster go nuts. I have Basch running it with a Katana, and normally just berserk/haste him for any extended battle. I love the slick Katana animations though, so I tempted to move Fran over there and have things get sexy.

I finally got the double license point accessories, and it's amazing. A double XP one would be nice too for my lay-abouts.

Also, how do you find out which stats affect which weapons?
