2. I just got back from watching Spider-man this afternoon...Pretty cool and I would definetly recommend it for fans and non-fans alike. There's a five second Hulk trailer if anyone is interested...

Positive:
- great effects
- Macho Man
- Kirsten Dunst (she's actually cute in the flick)
- CGI effects

Negative:
- Some clumsy one-liners
- Some decent overacting by Tobey...

Trailers Shown:
Stuart Little 2
Scooby Doo
Hulk (Short)
XXX
Austin Powers 3
Sum of All Fears
Still keeping that FUNK alive...^_^

3. I got different trailers, but the Hulk one was there. I want to see it again, but I think that will be enough for me. Many times when Peter and Mary get serious, it is soooo boring. Just look at their faces, they look stoned or about to fall to sleep. Willem Dafoe is great. When he gets mad, its scary. Now, the reason to see the movie? To see Spidey swing. I've debated the changes in the movie from the comic back and forth with my friends, and all I really care about is to see him swing. When it is done right, it is done in a way my wildest dreams couldn't have imagined. Twice I stared at the screen with my mouth open, in total awe of what I was seeing. At the end, everyone was clapping, and they even clapped at one scene during the movie too. Funny thing, as my friend and I were about to leave the theatre parking lot, I seen a man dressed up as Spiderman, and he actually had a hot woman with him. Wow.

4. I agree completely with Ebert's review, though I'd give it *** instead of **1/2. I'm surprised I liked it so much, I think I'll see it again.
God is Rome

5. Also: as I was leaving the theater, some guy said "Damn kids skippin' school to go see Spider-Man". How perceptive of him.

First off I got my ticket this afternoon no line though the theatre did become packed maybe even sold out.

All I gotta say Macy Gray has a cameo heh.

I liked the fight scenes with the actors/stuntmen as opossed to the computer generated effects. It follows the comic closely.

Based on the comics the original Green Goblin never had a metallic suit right wasn't it just a mask and costume and he was missing his bags of tricks.

Fun popcorn Movie but I don't think I'll see it again anytime soon.

Spoiler************************************

Did anybody think that Peter's friend Osbourne son will have his revenge like he alluded to in the sequel and in the comics didn't he eventully become the second Green Goblin. Also where does the Hobgoblin fit in the comic book storyline ,it's been awhile since I read the comics. I'd be surprised if they use a simmalr villan.

Yes, in the comic he became the second goblin. In Spectacular Spider-Man #200 he died. He took an enhanced version of the formula his father created; it made him stronger but it was also unstable. Eventually his heart gave out.

The Hobgoblin was a guy who stole the Green Goblin's equipment and made an identity for himself. The first Hobgoblin was Roderick Kingsley; I don't remember what was so important about him. The second was Ned Leeds; you see him as the Hobgoblin the most. He was killed by having his throat slit. I think it was in that Wolverine vs Spider-Man special. The last Hobgoblin was Jason Mycendale. I think during the Acts of Vengeance he was given Mystical powers or something and he was a demon or something. I know Dr. Strange cast a spell on him so that when he looked in a mirror, he saw hid real face instead of the demon one. he got better and I don't know what happened to him since. Probably more than you needed to know.

8. Here's what I said in the other Spidey thread:

I just got back from seeing Spider-Man, and man, did it own! It did just about everything right, a fine a example of what a comic book movie should be. At no time did I think to myself, "What the fuck is this shit?!", the film makers remained true to the Spider-Man story, they even included all of his mannerisms. Not to mention that Danny Elfman of Simpson's fame did the music, and Bruce Campbell is in it!

Plus, there were only a few inaccuracies, ALL of which are forgivable and forgettable.

[Spoilers, but honesty, you should know the Spider-Man story by now.]

- Peter Parker is in high school instead of college when he is bitten.
- The spider that bites him is genetically altered, instead of radioactive.
- The thief kills Uncle Ben via a car jacking, rather than a robbery at his home.
- Hobgoblin's origin is probably wrong, but who gives a fuck about him.

[/Spoilers]

The only thing I can see people complaining about this movie is it's special effects. Because just like Blade 2, Spider-Man relies heavily on CG fight scenes. But to all those people who complain about this, I only have one thing to say to you:

"SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU WHINEY BITCHES!"

All in all it was great movie, and I look forward to the inevitable sequels.

Man, I'd love to see Venom in a movie, maybe in Spider-Man 6?

9. Saw it.

I stand by my original statements:

Kirsten Dunst is hot.

Tobey Maguire is a little bitch.

How could Willem Dafoe stoop so low...?

The Spider-Man costume does NOT look like that.

Maybe if Kain Hodder wasn't tied up with Jason X they could have gotten him to be Venom.

A flat, uninspired, 1 * Movie.

I only give it those points for Kirsten...
Boo, Hiss.

10. Wow.

Seeing Spidey in motion was awe-inspiring. On the level of NiGHTS flight. Heck, even better.

Sometimes the lines were corny, but it felt oh-so comic-book that is was just right.

Oh, and was Bruce Campbell the wrestling announcer? I think so ^_^

Just....wow. I mean, I wanted to see this, but not too bad, and now I am way beyond happy with the thing. It just sucked me in and fell in love with the whole Spidey story again.

Heh, plus if you look really really hard, you might find me in the Unity Fair dealie. I was an extra ^____________^
