BRAVO, this post drew a single tear.

I got mine, and so far, HUGE dissapointment.

I haven't tried it on Live yet, but so far, it's just not clicking with me, at all. The single player mode is absolutely WORTHLESS, i'm praying this game shines like a light on Live.

I've only played the Rainbow Six 3 demo, but so far that game trounces this one, in graphics, presentation, interface, you name it.

Gonna try it on Live real soon, maybe it will all just click together for me.

So far, Rainbow Six 3 > Counter Strike

I wouldn't argue that at all, and it damn well should, but I'd imagine CS, even in downgraded form, has much better gameplay. RS3, at least from watching videos and hearing from a lot of people on XBL, seems pretty weak in the gameplay department.

I was gonna say, that would've been utterly retarded.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.

    .
Maybe it's just me, but the gameplay does feel a bit worse than RS 3. It's an upgraded port, but I still get this feeling of sloppiness with it, that it was rushed out real fast to get holiday sales.

These people are silly and to be disregarded.

I don't know, the weapon damage for one just seems really off, and I've heard the same complaint from more than a few people. And while it doesn't take away from the gameplay, the guns seem like hunks of wood, with really stiff recoil and stagnant muzzle flashes. Given the online play, and how slick the game looks, I would really like to give it a shot, but then again I thought the game was quite mediocre on the PC as well. Maybe my Bestbuy has the demo from a while back, does anybody know how much they were selling them for?

No shit. Welcome to the world of Counter-Strike. There is no such thing as single player.

As for damage, I'll go with a no. When it comes to the stiff recoil, there lies the problem. The guns definetly have less recoil which leads to better accuracy which means you're going to die faster. The guns still deal (in my opinion) the same amount of damage. It's just that now even weapons like the UMP are somewhat useful.

As it stands, this game is still nowhere near as good as other Live games, which is sad because CS was a blast on the PC. This game also seems extremely bright and washed out... it just feels like a really rushed port, because they wanted to capitalize on the holiday and Xbox Live.

I tried it online, it was alright, but it's nothing that's going to make me keep coming back over and over. This game actually makes me want to go out and buy the full version of RS6 3, since I keep hearing how great it is online.

I'm gonna give it another shot tommorrow on Live, and see if it gets any better, but at this point i'm dissapointed. Lobo says I should just trade it for Condition Zero in about two weeks, and he might be right.

And actually, Condition Zero is going to have a single player mode, and that's why I was dissapointed all the Xbox version had was bots. The IGN review seems to agree with me... the closing comments are how I feel definately...

    IGN's closing comments on CS

Counter-Strike is a decent game if you take it for what it is. However, I couldn't help but feel disappointed that neither Ritual nor Valve nor Microsoft Game Studios seized the opportunity to make the Xbox version of Counter-Strike something more visually impressive and worthy of our attention. As it is, Counter-Strike doesn't offer an online shooter experience like Return to Castle Wolfenstein or Rainbow Six 3 where there are unique styles and gameplay subsystems to keep us interested.

  9. I just got it today and I loved what I played so far. I hated Rainbow six 3 so, all I can say is, different strokes for different folks.

  10. And actually, Condition Zero is going to have a single player mode
I guess. It sounds pretty lame..like a challenge mode. Kill 5 people with a five-seven! Now do it without dying! Now get 5 headshots witha five-seven! Now do it without dying! Yawn..
