I expect the PSP to be one of the more expensive handheld game systems released, but $550? Even as a wild guess that's way too high. That price point is so ridiculous any analyst at Sony would know they'd sink as fast as the N-Gage if they released the PSP with that tag. If it were the case, Sony would have no choice but to go back to the drawing board on the PSP and create a less-ambitious handheld.

If Sony wants a handheld to match the success of the GameBoy line, they had better find a price point suitable for the "stocking stuffer" set.

i know i wouldnt want to buy my child (if i had one) a portable system that uses disc based technology. "here you go jut put that disc in your bag and scratch it all up". different market means different money.

Considering the condition I've gotten games back from people borrowing and what I saw people try to trade in while working at a videogame store, I know I wouldn't want adults to have a portable system that uses disc based technology either.
