I can't really tell if you are joking or not...

[Sony] wouldnt make it if it wouldnt succeed.
Sort of like Sony pushing their modern Betamax a few years ago, Digital 8 camcorders?
Memorystick(sp?) looks like it may be falling threw the cracks as well.

  2. They are just hyping the PSP. "$150 - compare at $555!"
    No gnus is good gnus.

  3. I expect the PSP to be one of the more expensive handheld game systems released, but $550? Even as a wild guess that's way too high. That price point is so ridiculous any analyst at Sony would know they'd sink as fast as the N-Gage if they released the PSP with that tag. If it were the case, Sony would have no choice but to go back to the drawing board on the PSP and create a less-ambitious handheld.

If Sony wants a handheld to match the success of the GameBoy line, they had better find a price point suitable for the "stocking stuffer" set.

  4. hey the tapwave is around 300 or 450 so why the gripin bout the psp...

    Yup.

Considering the specs, we wouldn't be surprised at a price above 60,000 yen (about $555).
    I read:

Considering it can fire portable missles and is 10,000 times more powerful than the gba, we would suck Sony's dick just to get a chance to develop for this immaculately designed product that is at least 100 years ahead of its time, and you should be happy to pay at least $550 for it but you're going to get a great deal and only have to pay $250! That's HALF PRICE!! Sony is like your best friend!

Considering the condition I've gotten games back from people borrowing and what I saw people try to trade in while working at a videogame store, I know I wouldn't want adults to have a portable system that uses disc based technology either.

A PDA can plot a course anywhere in the world that a map exists and tell you every single turn as well as where most restaurants and places of interest in any plotted location is. And it plays music, movies, and games. And lets you draw and write notes/papers on it. And lets you surf the internet. And lets you use it as a remote for all your major electronics.

The price comparision is where again?
