To create your own Filipino girls' name, just pick a random syllable and put "ly" or "melda" on the end. It works!

A friend of mine who worked at the Gap told me once about a regular customer of hers whose name was Roger Abbot. Apparently, his sister's name was Esther Abbot, which wasn't a coincidence like his was (born before the film, obviously).

She had another customer named "Fook Yu", also - an elderly lady who didn't speak a lot of English.

  2. Raise your hand if you're going to name your children after videogame characters.

  5. "NOKIA N-GAGE" would be the perfect name for a retarded/special-needs child.

  6. Anyone remember that Turok contest they had a year or two ago where if you changed your name to Turok, for at least a year, they'd give you some big prize or cash.

Hmm... The closest name of a person I can think of is a girl who's name is "Avian", which is French for plane. It's pronounced differently, though. It has a hard A instead of a soft A.

  9. Avian - "Of, relating to, or characteristic of birds."
