Yeah I've been one to hate on him too. For one, I'm not sure how his jittery, nervous comedy style will translate to the talk show format. But I guess we'll see.

I've been semi-following the stuff he puts on www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com and it hasn't been half bad. It seems like he's really trying to incorporate a lot of modern/techy/videogamey stuff that never makes it past G4 into his talk show, which I think is great. I mean, I think it'd be cool to see Will Wright or David Jaffe on a late night talk show talking about their upcoming game.

I think it's cool Fallon is trying to make the talk show something that's his instead of trying to emulate Conan (because he would fail).

Conan's last week was killer. He's the best. I predict he is going to kill Letterman. The young demographic is his, and that's the majority of people awake at that time.

You've convinced me to give him a shot. If he can set himself apart and do a straight interview show that's light on gags, he might gain me as a fan.

As a funnyman, Fallon is painfully unfunny.

This clip, of him introducing his interns starts off really slow, but gets to be pretty funny at the end, mostly b/c he keeps in control. I was waiting for him to FLIP OUT or start LAUGHING UNCONTROLLABLY like he did in all his SNL skits, but he didn't. And the bit was allowed to just be funny (which is to say, the kids were allowed to be the show; lol at the kid on the end "they don't get anything out of me").

He'll also be getting the lead in from Leno. If he can tone down his act a notch, he'll have the old folk audience as well.
