Thread: 'Tis the season

  1. Walmart is a market all to itself you know. It'd take a lot of fire.

  2. I hate Wal-Mart, I got overly happy when I heard that they were tearing down the one right next to my house, but only to find out they we're tearing every building down on that block just to make a bigger one....

  3. Good to see that Wal-Mart is so caring as to put aside a $29 DVD player for her. The lines at my local Wal-Mart were insane on BlackFriday, with there being one huge line out of each of the entrance doors. There were a few cops there as well. Just madness.

  4. Wal-Mart will soon change their corporate title to "Soccer Mom and War Veteran Headquarters!!!!!".

  5. A brawl happened at one just a few miles from my place, and if I remember correctly, someone actually got shot over a PS2 at the launch in 2000 at one. Horrible stuff, Wal-Mart should have had better crowd control on hand for that shit, lord knows it's happened enough times that they should know by now...

Ellzey said Wal-Mart officials called later Friday to ask about her sister, and the store apologized and offered to put a DVD player on hold for her.
How about setting aside a few million dollars for the impending lawsuit instead?
    omg TNL epics!

  6. Why does this remind me of all the concert tramplings that were happening a year or two ago? How the hell can you trample all over someone and not think "Damn, I'm fucking trampling over someone?!"

This is why I'm glad that I do my shopping BEFORE Black Friday unless there's an especially sweet deal or the thing I'm looking for is being released afterwards...

I've actually been in some crowd situations that got pretty scary while in the mall. I tend to deal with them the same way I do mosh pits: wear my biker jacket (it works as light armor), and if a wave starts coming my way I get the first big hit in and try to "swim" through the crowd. But then, I'm also physically big enough that it takes a lot to push me over. It's not often, but sometimes being 280 pounds has its advantages...

  7. They pushed her down and walked over her like a herd of elephants.
Sounds like a typical walmart shopper(elephant) to me. What's sad, is that they said they would hold one for her. They should at least give the damn thing to her!

Wal-Mart's commentary was just sad period. The $10 profit on the DVD player is obviously much more important than that woman's safety/health. Pretty typical of WM though.

  9. Yeah, screw with WalMart and their reasonable prices, well stocked shelves and vast product selection.

And screw their great DVD and game prices too.

    Who needs em? (me)

What great game prices? I do like the $15 new release DVD pricing though.
