Heck Ya!
I agree with everybody that posted in this thread, Nintendo is gonna have a great xmas season, and it's lineup of games is the best you'll find anywhere!

Dude, I'm not a member of the anti-Nintendo TNL crew, and I'll tell you straight up, it's stupid to include GBA games in the GC library. Why, you ask? Because I don't have to buy a GameCube to play them. Not to mention the fact that it's silly. Why, if I'm interested only in GBA games, would I pay $150 for the GC and a GBA Player, when I can pay $100 for an SP, or $70 for a plain vanilla GBA?Originally Posted by Destro777

Ah, thanks for the info, Diff, I remember that promotion now. I also remember folks trying to get one sent to them while trying to get the JSRF/Sega GT 2002 bundle as well.

I wasn't calling you, Captain Veg, or all of TNL "anti-nintendo". Im sure you know who i mean.
And to answer your question, why spend $150 on gb+player instead of $100 or $70 on gba or sp? Because you cant play gba games on your tv with only sp or gba, for the millionth time.
I know that.Originally Posted by Destro777

They both have their advantages, but you seem to be missing the point.
Playing on a TV isn't as big an incentive as you think, especially when it involves extra monies that the consumer will have to spend, not to mention the fact that GAME BOY ADVANCE GAMEs DO NOT SELL GAMECUBES.
Pardon me if I get a bit belligerent, but you just don't seem to be getting this. People don't look at the new Sword of Mana game and think, "Oh! A new Square Enix RPG for the GBA, let me go buy a GameCube to play it!" That just doesn't happen. They do, however, think this way, "Oh! A new Square Enix RPG for the GBA, let me go buy a GBA to play it!"
And since we're talking about sales, here, the fact that a GBA Player "expands the GC library" is irrelavent.
Yea, i see what you are saying. All valid points.
And i also agree with the GBAPlayer not being that big of a factor into GC sales.
But i still dont agree with not including GBA games when talking about the GC library.
Anyways, glad to see Nintendo's doing well this holiday season, even though stuff like Twin Snakes and Pikmin 2 got pushed back.
On this point, you might have something. To people with a GBA Player, myself included, they most certainly see the GBA capabilities of their GC as an effective extended library.Originally Posted by Destro777

Should Big Johnson buy him a $179 PS2 or Xbox, or should he go ahead and save $20 and buy a Gamecube with the GBA player? Little Johnson already has a ton of GBA games for it and the Gamecube comes with 4 Zelda games as well. Sounds like a great purchase to me.
Then you have the bitter family. They are on a tight budget and would love to give little bitter a game console this year. The Gamecube is at a great price, comes with 4 free Zelda games and they can rent other games in the future. Everyone is happy.
Whether some people here hate Nintendo, think their software library sucks or don't get why anyone would want a Gamecube, the system is a great buy at $99. Even if you don't like this season's games on offer, anyone that does'nt have a Gamecube, would be more than happy with playing Madden 2004 on it or getting titles they wanted to play from last year, that play just as good today, as they did when they were released. Not everyone buys 10 games a year. For someone that buys 2 titles a year and rents the rest, the system will do just fine.
