whoa.. i'm a huge fan of the SNES game, but i had no idea this existed..
must....have.......!
Beam Software's SNES Shadowrun game(1993) and Blue Sky Software's Genesis game(1994) are well known to fans of the cyberpunk RPG pen and paper game license. Far more obscure is the Japan-exclusive Mega CD Shadowrun game by Compile. I'm pretty sure it was the last game released for the Mega CD which would explain why it was never translated. The Sega CD was mostly dead by 1996.
A company called SNE is also copyrighted on the title screen but have no clue what they're about.
I haven't played this game myself and I assume the language barrier is a bit too much but I'm still interested in learning more about it. From what I have read, it's supposed to be quite impressive. Has anyone here played it?
*edit - Damn link died. Here are some more screenshots. http://perso.wanadoo.fr/mechakucha/s...hadowruncd.htm

You're gonna pay a ton for it, so beware.Originally Posted by johnk_

I knew this existed, but for some reason I though it had a Euro release.
I wonder why this hasn't been transhacked yet. Should be fairly standard stuff.
Yeah, I saw screenshots of this in the Sega Console History book and was blown away.
Someone needs to make a next-gen Shadowrun game right quick.

It's rare, only 5,000 (I've heard as low as 2,000) were made. Compile was involved with the game too. It's a RPG, but the extent of interaction is unclear, most screenshots seem to suggest digital comic interface, at least in some parts. *-neo

The battles are supposed to be more strategic than a regular J-RPG. And there's some dice rolling mixed in.
There's Shadowrun figures availble at Suncoast now.. they seem alright.
