Actually Sony is pretty much admitting to the disc error issues as being their fault. As long as the system is isn't tampered with, all you pay for is shipping to Sony. They are even honoring systems outside of waranty.

Nice of them to start doing that now, AFTER I paid for a brand new PS2 last year. *grumble*

Same here. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this.

I have noticed my BGM skip on Psyvariar, but this rarely happens. I'm wondering if it could be time to have my PS2's DVD drive cleaned.

from everything ive read the circular scratches happen when people turn the system off and on from the back (the main switch instead of standby) with a disc already in the system. apparenty the laser moves and resets and the scratches happen. then again no one will ever know why some systems break after a day and others work flawlessly.
